Why is everyone so quick to put Oh St in top 4?

They have 1 top win against Pen St, and got blown out at home by the only other decent team they've played.
They did soundly beat these yearly juggernauts: indiana, maryland, army, rutgers, and unlv.
I just don't see them beeing ranked agead of Clemson. We have wins against current top 15 VT (road) and Auburn.
Thoughts?

None of other other 1 loss teams close to us have a worse loss. We've played 2 decent teams and beat them both, but have no signature wins.

It's not about who we lost to so much as who we played and who we beat.
We have played and beaten more good teams than any other program in the top 20.

We have played a long line of "good" to "very good" teams since Kent State.

But conversely, we have a better out of conference win than 31-0hio St. That's their loss. The CFP committee has said it considers injuries too.

I agree with you but if you beat the #2 team and are at #6, you should move up especially with the loss by #4 TCU. They are basically the same team they were last year, with shotty offensive line play and a hit or miss QB in Barrett

I’m all for them being in the top 4.
It worked out pretty good for clemson last year in the playoffs.

Massive alumni and fan base and legendary jerk head coach and Woody Hayes and all the history leads to bias from media and a lot of casual fans. Networks want them due to large population and viewing base. But it will all work itself out. Somebody between OSU and PSU and Wisconsin has to get knocked out, hopefully 2 of them like last year. OSU has the best QB, at least as he is playing now, so I think they have the edge. But injuries and slumps happen and they still have to beat Meechigan too. I think Wisconsin will begin to feel the sphincter tighten up and don't trust the PSU QB too much. We just need to take of our own business, one day at a time, and we will be ok and in the playoffs in the Rose Bowl.

Last year, how anybody ranks them above us with same number of loses is beyond me. I know it’s a different year, but we have a better Defense and our offense will put it together if we stay healthy
