I found it odd that he replaced Triller to run for him, then seemed to fall asleep on the base path. He should have tagged and gone to third, and scored on the passed ball. Mental error IMO.

gentlemen, don't show such ignorance. You don't make 3rd out at 3rd. A base hit scores him from second. No outs, he tags up. He did exactly as coached. Anyway, the way the wild pitch bounced almost back to home plate he might have been out at home on the wild pitch.
Nice job coaches.

When I was listening to it on the radio.
That said... Just watched the video clip of the play...
Renwick could have powerwalked from second to third and there wouldn't have been a play. It was a brainfart on his behalf.
So glad it didn't come back to bite us.

That's the correct way to play the ball in that situation. Ask any high school coach or even little league coach how the base runner on second should react. Good coaching Monte.

ball was clearly going to be caught deep
tag up seemed to be easy
he just went to far off second to start with

Outfielders momentum was taking him to the wall, caught the ball very deep. Even if he would have been on the bag waiting to tag up and the ball fell, he could have scored.
Was texting a friend the play by play when it happened, I assumed he tagged up and didn't realize until the replay that he didnt

the kid probably screwed up. can we not let it go. he was halfway and had to get back and when he did it was to late. yall do realize we still won somehow.
