The more I think about it

The more I start to believe that there is something deep going on we don't know about. Someone sold their soul for DJ, or they made a promise to him that has to be fulfilled or something will surface that the Clemson staff doesn't want to happen.
I have no concrete evidence, flame me. I have a gut though.

Maybe Dabo is just sticking it to the fans. Maybe he feels the fans are trying to boss him around, or act like they know more than him. I don’t really believe this, this throwing out wild conspiracies.

Dabo's loyalty to DJ is a mystery. And Streeter's reaction to an obvious question by David Hood was ridiculous. DJ did not run his #### off. He had a few good runs in the first half. If you can't take the heat Street, get out of the kitchen. That was a fair question based on your offense's production in the second half. It was embarrassing.
I get that you will defend your players, but don't get mad at the question. You don't want questions like that... put a product on the field that can get a TD. Have some creativity in your game plan. Don't stop running the ball when you are averaging 6 yards per carry.
You average 6 yards per carry, you are unstoppable.

Especially when Dabo throws everyone under the bus but DJ. I hate what the portal is doing to college football but there’s certain players on this team I wouldn’t blame for leaving.

NIL contracts with strings attached punishing the program for sitting a guy are not out of the realm of possibility. There is no oversight. How much money does Bojangles give Clemson?

I don’t think it is nefarious as much as it is a straight forward promise Dabo made to DJ that as the number one pocket passer coming out of high school he would not have his playing time cut like DeShaun and Trevor to give the back ups reps. This helps DJ’s stats and chances at a pro career. Also he would have promised Big Dave the biggest chance at the maximum NIL money which is tied to game time exposure. Sold his/our soul in the process to keep the string of 5 stars flowing.

Something is going on that we don’t know about. Dabo and Streeter arent even listening to questions about it and respond with nonsense and non-specific phrases and such but no actual answers. There narrative has run out, we aren’t winning and they have absolutely no reason at all to continue with him, yet they say he’s not a problem.

What would DJU get out of that? He will clearly not be drafted unless something drastically changes with his performance

Is it possible that Coaches have to recruit NIL sponsors

so that they can promise recruits good NIL deals?
that would explain a lot

Why can’t the reason simply be that DJ is our best QB?

Why is it hard to believe that he’s better than the other QBs on the roster?

How do you know that?

It’s concerning that some of you think the coaches wouldn’t play the best player. They want to win. They are paid to win.
Some of these theories here are ridiculous. Dabo owes Big Dave something? Dabo promised DJ a permanent starting role? DJ being the starter is in the contract for NIL? Get real.

Tajh Boyd Kyle Parker Deshaun Watson Cole Stoudt Trevor Lawerence Kelly Bryant Now it's Cade and DJ
Dabo has a history of staying loyal to the senior QB and trying to force his guy to be the hero.
Do you think DJ will be the better QB next year if they both comeback? If not what changes your mind?

How do we know? I’m still baffled that DJ came back out after 2 3 and outs and the a terrible INT. It just doesn’t make any sense. There isn’t another coach in the P5 that wouldn’t have tried something different in point in the game.

That's very possible, but to be clear ...

(1) If so, that is a whole other problem, and demands some answers. How did a program with the tradition, clout, and resources of Clemson wind up in this pitiful shape at QB? Somebody should have to address that, and set about explaining how we fix it. And ...
(2) Even if DJ is the best we've got, he still should have been yanked Saturday, even if for a couple of series, just to calm him down, talk to him, let him know he can be replaced and motivate him, whatever, because he was stinking it up. If Cade isn't capable of coming in and managing the game and not screwing up for a few series at this stage, then we are right back to #1.
Either way, it's a problem that should be addressed.

It’s the only rational answer. It’s extremely alarming.
Has anyone ever noticed players display outward frustration during the game or sidelines that would be directed towards DJ?

Plausible, but it means our recruiting and coaching leaves something to be desired. If the best we have is what I saw on the field Saturday, our problems are systemic and deep.

So selling our soul out to get a 5 star pocket passer to keep the streak alive is not symptomatic of a systemic problem?
