is the coaches that have just recently got there and signed contracts, I'm sure they had no idea, and now they are stuck with a team that's going to struggle for about 5-10 years. I haven't looked at the coaches list so idk if there are any relatively new coaches though. The players I don't feel that bad for given that they can transfer wherever with no penalty.

I feel bad for O'Brien because he signed a really bad deal. Basically, if sanctins were to come down and he wanted to leave, he would need to buyout the rest of his contract at the base salary price.

He had some real bad representation in those negotiations.

He's operating on a 1 million dollar base salary + about another million from radio/tv/endorsements. And he just signed this contract well after it was common knowledge that the scandal was swirling.

He knew what he was signing, and he's getting paid quite well for it.

I don't feel bad because of the sanctions on behalf of O'Brien, he should have known, I feel bad because he got some really bad representation, and like SOLOS said, should seek a legal remedy, on the face, but who knows how that line came to be, yada yada yada. A million things come to mind, basic rider in any contract (defeatable) a clause that was required in order to sign a contract (not as easily defeated on a contract standpoint, but possible negligence on the part of counsel), and everything in between.

by the actions of today. Unless every penny of the fines levied by the ncaa and big10 go to the victims and prevention they've overstepped their bounds and turned this into a sham.
