Why am I so interested in a horse race?

I'm watching this race now and glued to the tv watching horses race. I've never cared for horse racing. Nervous for this horse. Dang. He just won. Just watched history be made.

Yeah, I hear THAT. I was 17 when Secretariat won the Triple Crown in '73. And I actually missed the race today, (#@%*)-it all. Didn't get home in time. I was really hoping California Chrome would win it last year - really kewl story behind that horse and his owners. Oh well, maybe next year....... or another 37 years from now. (Dang, I hate I missed that race today!)

The one that finished last. I'm kidding. None. If I would have bet on American pharaoh he would have lost, that's my luck. I was really pulling for him cause it was neat to see history made and we might not see another triple crown winner for a long time, or ever.
