Who Thinks Of Pricing? ---

Aug 22, 2021, 4:04 PM

Watching this auto auction......and I wonder when was it the start of the norm that cars would cost so much more than the above average house you live in??

I remember when gas was $.25 per gallon. But, my father's check was $50 per week.

I’d say it started immediately after Ronald Reagan gave the millionaires tax cuts, so that the millionaires could then make the rest of us rich.

Instead, the millionaires spent the money on themselves, 5-6 houses, yachts, airplanes, rare/expensive cars and $250,000-500,000 worth of vacations per year.

Don’t waste your breath telling me this doesn’t go on, I’ve worked in that world for 24 years.

And none of those things you listed that the millionaires bought provided anyone with a job or profit. It only benefited the millionaires. Got it.

Taking less of someone’s money isn’t “giving” them anything.

Jealousy and envy is ugly, but it powers the Left. Take from those based on their ability to pay, give to those according to their need. Fairness has nothing to do with it. It’s a criminal enterprise intended to hold power.

What is everyone's fair share to pay for taxes? The top 10% pay about 90% of the taxes and the bottom 50% pay about 5-10%. What if everyone pays, say 10-15% so everyone has skin in the game. Maybe many of the give-away programs will end.

I like watching both of the big auctions. I guess there are a number of reasons including cars just being so much a part of America and our lives, as well as representative of their eras. Lots of nostalgia and some view them as pieces of art. In the end being collectible and often rare, they are worth what someone is willing to pay. Good on them.
