Serious kweshun

Oct 27, 2014, 6:36 PM

If Morgan Roberts was still here, would he be in the conversation for getting some looks if Stoudt struggles?

Saying, not would he be the starter or anything like that, but is he a level above Schuessler/Olsen, who most people seem to cringe at suggesting as options.

TIA.

Who said Schuessler was bad?

I was hoping we would give him a shot after the third TO

I've seen several folks scoff at suggesting we try Schuessler. You're right, a great many believe in him but others clearly do not and I was just wondering if there was a way to know what it would be like if Clemson had a classics major.

I don't think we have a problem at QB. How long have we heard "I'd rather beat the ####$ than win an ACC championship"? Well, the coaches have been on TigerNet and they've taken note. We are now "saving up" and not showing ANYTHING on offense! NOTHING!!! The prying eyes from usuc will have no film to go on. They'll have to focus on scoring points against our awesome defense instead of ball control and keeping the ball from our offense. That's when The Chad will work his magic!

I hope I'm not being delusional. Go d@mn Tigers!

Roberts has been doing well at Yale this year.

Oct 27, 2014, 7:38 PM

His numbers last year weren't very impressive, and he was nearly moved permanently to WR. This year, however, has been much different. I believe he has thrown for 16 TD's against 5 Int's this year to go with 4 TD's rushing. In his 6 games this year he has 1985 yards passing and 185 yards rushing on 39 carries. That's 360 yards of offense per game and over 3 TD's per game with less than 1 TO. I'm not sure what his completion % is, but it's got to be nearly 70 percent. He had one game where he was 26/29 and another where he was 26/30.

I don't know how exactly those numbers would be able to translate against FBS teams. Regardless, he has played very well in his current situation. He seems to have made a good decision for himself. From the way things appeared when he left, he would have been the 4th QB on the roster in Deshaun Watson honored his early commitment behind Stoudt, Kelly, and Watson. Who could have guessed one would be injured, one would be gone, and another would have struggled at times to the point where people were calling for Schuessler, who could have very likely been the #5 QB if Roberts were still here.

Thanks for your thoughts on Roberts and the other QBs. Your insights are appreciated.
