Okay, so I'm seeing I need to have a clear bag to bring in his diaper bag contents. Any idea on what to do with a stroller? Can I check at a gate, or should I leave at a tailgate kinda far away? Can I bring a carrier inside?
Any other must haves you guys recommend? He'll be almost 11 months old. Thanks!

Took all three of mine as infants, one at 11 months, one at 6 months, and one at 13 months. Every trip was a blast for us and kids. If kids weren't sleeping they were smiling! We have those family memories for life now too.

Yes, enjoy spending time with your babies. But they enjoy being around familar faces. It's not the game they enjoy. They have absolutely no concept of football or what is going on at the time. And they will not remember it - only what stories people tell them about it as they get older.

Don't bring the stroller. Pack everything you need in the bag and bring the carrier.
You can check the stroller at the gate if you truly need it close, otherwise just leave it at the tailgate/ in the car.
Carrier is the way to go

We just took a 2 year old to the SMU game. Left the stroller at the gate when we went in and he was a champ through the whole game.

Just a thought for your consideration. After 52 years of marriage, kids, and grandkids, there will be plenty of opportunities down the road to bring your baby, and other children hopefully, to a ball game. Knowing what I know now, it is far more important for just you and your wife to go to the game and get some time away. And that is what Grandmas and Grandpas are for. Let them spoil the baby for the game and even make it a weekend with your wife.

Don't listen to the negative comments here. It's fine. The weather will be great. Take the stroller all the way too the gate. There will be 20 or 30 others parked right inside as well. Bring sunscreen. Take pictures. We have pics of all three of ours as babies. Awesome memories. Be prepared to not stay in the stadium the whole game. If you're in the lower bowl bring ear protection. If you're in the top deck you're fine but we still used shooting muffs. If you get next to some rowdy people tell the usher and they'll let you move somewhere else. It won't be a sell out.

Gosh thank you for the input! I have very low expectations and pressure for the whole thing. I'm mostly bringing him because it's homecoming. I think he will love looking at the floats, tailgating, seeing people. Like for example he loves the mall because there's just so much going on.
But like hey, whatever. If he hates it, we will leave. Simple as that and I'm fine either way!

That's the right attitude. We took ours every homecoming. Loved climbing all over the floats. It's great. Stroller or decent wagon is the way to go. I also recommend sitting him on the tiger statues right in front of the hill for a great photo op!

I hear advice and heed it, believe me. It helps me set expectations (low). No pressure for the baby, I will go at his pace. I'm doing this for an experience with him.
Genuinely, you don't actually ever know how much time anyone has on this earth. I have always been the person that opts for experiences sooner rather than later.

Years ago when our children were young, we took them to their first game when they were probably 4 and 5 years old. I sat with our oldest daughter and my wife had the youngest who slept the whole game until my wife had enough and went to the car. Unless you have a seat for a carrier, there is no way you can take it to your seats because there is no room so the baby would need to be held for as long as you can make it.

I didn’t start taking my son till he was four and even then he was more into the game day atmosphere than the game itself. He enjoyed running down the hill, watching the band, the cheerleaders, etc. Normally at some point in the game, he would lay down and take a nap. My favorite memory of that time was when the cannon fired after a score and it awakened him from his nap like he had been shot. With that said, it was the start of building a love for Clemson that propelled him to go there and graduate. I hope he does the same for his children one day.

Sheesh you would have thought with all the babies on this board there’d be plenty of pointers to go around for taking your little one.
Good for you raising him right out of the gate. We’ve taken our 2yo tailgating a few times and she really enjoyed the band parade before the game, but kickoff conflicted with nap time so we didn’t want to push our luck

Right? Sounds like a lot of people really didn't get included in fun options as kids. Like, again, pressure is low. If it sucks, it sucks. I think he will have a good time and I've seen plenty of parents who did the same and enjoyed it!

But if you're all-in on bring-your-baby-to-the-Duke-game day, the bad news is getting a baby situated in Death Valley is a tall order. You can take a stroller in, but not all the way to the seats. Have to park it in a stroller area.
Not sure if you can bring a carrier/car seat. Probably not.
The good news is there'll prolly be plenty of space around you to spread out given the tire fire this season has become.

It’s been 20 years or so , around 2004, and things I’m sure have changed but I would usually leave the stroller and daughter at the gate if it was going to be a hot day or a game I wanted to focus on. She would usually sleep for a quarter or 2 after some NyQuil and the guy at the gate would come let me know if she needed changing.
I’m sure with security and everything this may not be a thing anymore, but you can always try it?
