What's your favorite football memory?

It's hard to pick just one, but I'd have to go with Watson to Renfrow to win the championship. I was to young to remember much about the 81 championship and I had honestly wondered if I'd ever live to see us win another one. I can still remember everyone jumping up and down, hugging and high fiving each other and then getting outside the stadium and Clemson folks running and hollering in celebration.

Easy. The end of the National Championship game in Miami and being part of the thousands of Tiger fans that stayed for the celebration.

some time in the 80s I was a young kid. My first Clemson Football game. I think it was homecoming vs Duke. I just remember being amazed by EVERYTHING. The tiger paws on the street, the floats, the parade, box sliding down the hill, the whole shebang that weekend was so amazing as a kid I was hooked for life.

took my oldest son to his 1st football game when he was just over a year old. after that day he insisted we always go together.
I took all 3 of my kids but he is the only 1 that stuck and it is "our thing" even today, 19 years later.

The 1976 Clemson versus SCAR lamecock game was THE best! The lamecocks came in ranked and filled with pride. They talked all week as to how they were going to repeat 1975 all over again. I sat in the stands on the 1st row on the East end zone South side--student section. The lamecocks fumbled right in front of me and we eventually won 28-9. It was a cold and rainy day in Orange Heaven. The stadium was so loud that you could scream and not hear the person speaking beside you. Everyone in orange was just so happy, no one wanted to leave.

One of my earliest memories was that game. I got to go because it was cold and rainy and my mother didn't want to. Interesting fact about that one is that it was Red Parker's last. The Tigers warmed up on what was at that time the soccer field behind the south stands. You didn't see them until they ran down the hill. They were already wet and dirty and looked like they had already played. Crowd went nuts.

Being a 10 year old kid during the 81 title season. My parents would have a little radio on the kitchen counter and we would listen to Jim Phillips call the games that were not televised.

I in high school and my brother (the coot) got me a coot student ticket.
I made my way to the Clemson student section where seat assignment didn't really seem to matter.
I probably had over $50 in bets back at Airport High school (in $0.25 to $5 increments) which was a lot to a high school kid back then. By halftime I realized the game was in the bag so I went and spent most of the money I had to cover the bets on Clemson memorabilia. I was going to look sharp when I collected my money.
Then the slow, enviable collapse happened. I couldn't believe what I was seeing but knew what was needed.
I untied my "original tiger rag" (real original) from my orange overalls and sat in my unassigned seat and started my normal Clemson game time ritual. To anyone around me it would appear I was praying, but I held the tiger rag by their specified corner and hummed the tiger fight song prior to each snap as I had done all season long while listening to Jim Philips on the radio on Saturday afternoons.
I didn't see a single play of the game winning drive, but based on the reaction of those around me...I knew what I was doing was working.
Suddenly everyone around me went crazy. I jumped up and girl standing beside me (she wasn't there at the start of the drive) grabbed me and quite literally picked me up in a hug. She was screaming "you did it, you did it".
As the two of us were jumping up and down in an embrace I realized that IF I made it into Clemson (acceptance arrived that December)...Me and this girl would eventually get married.
As things settled down for the extra point, she looked at me...I looked back at her...she said (and this is close to a quote) "I don't know what the hell you just did, but sit your ### back down because there is still time left on the clock".
I did exactly that. When the clock had made it down to zero and I stood, knowing I'd done my part in securing the Clemson victory...only to discover my future wife had disappeared.

Maybe football, maybe not. 2015 Notre Dame game, pouring rain, 4th quarter and the dj played Phil collins in the Air that with the light show flashing the rain and the importance of that game. Was pretty sweet!

Most recent in person experience was the ND game in the rain. The whole 1981 season was an incredible experience. And then the Watson to Renfrow to win it again was right up there. There are so many Scar games and big upsets sprinkled in as well. They are all beautiful to me!

Incredible moment, almost surreal.
The bitter cold on that late night in Tampa went away when we scored that game winning TD.

Clemson vs UGA in the 1981 season. Big boy football! Herschel Walker and 5 fumbles. Walker never entered our end zone! 1st loss for UGA in two years.

I remember the 1st time my son got to "meet at the paw". I knew from the look of joy on his face that he would be a Tiger. He is now completing his junior year and just got his Clemson ring. Look at the attached photo.

He played right guard, but was a backup nose tackle. The starter tweaked his ankle and had to come out. It was first and ten and the other team ran the dive right up the middle. He split the double team and stopped it for a 2 yard gain. The next ran off tackle and he shed the block to stop it for another 2 yard gain. Third down play was a sweep which he slid down the line and when the runner cut back he stopped him again for a 2 yard gain. His only 3 defensive plays that year and he made all 3 tackles.

1966 Virginia game. First time the rock was at top of the hill. Was listening with my Dad on an old RCA radio. Clemson was down 35-18 going to 4th Qtr. He started screaming as we were coming back. Jacky Jackson took a pitch and long run for TD. CU won 40-35. That’s the game that hooked me on CU football. Listened to many more on that old radio and still got it

When Woody punched Charlie in the Gator Bowl. The crowd had rode him unmercifully all night. He finally cracked. Oh yea and we won the game.
