What’s the benefit of Clemson Honors program?

Niece was accepted into Clemson Honors program. What are benefits of the Honors program versus the regular undergrad?
I assume better lodging and early class registration along with more workload. How is a Clemson Honors different than other schools or students?

Google clemson honors program.
I think they no longer use the Calhoun name but I could be wrong about that. It was being discussed.

academic tutoring opportunities, and a sweet graduation sash to show it all off.
At least that's what it was like back in the day.

Better housing, early registration, preference to other housing options, looks great on your resume, and a great academic achievement.

They also had events like lectures and meet and greets that were only open to Honors college members.
I think there were also times that there were some free tickets available for concerts and other events.
If you are academically advanced, it puts you around other people who are also taking their education seriously.
If you end up being an engineering major, they used to NOT have separate sections for honors classes but psychology and English did. So, you could take Psychology 101 with a handpicked professor and 20 other students instead of being in a lecture hall with 300 students being taught by a grad student.
There is no reason not to do it if it is offered because you can always drop it later.
The priority scheduling was great if you want to avoid 8 AM classes or Friday afternoon classes.

My grand niece is in the Honors program at Carolina. She gets a full scholarship plus $2000 per semester. I don't know what Clemson provides, but if it is any like that it's a sweet deal.

Not necessarily at Clemson, but at most schools the honors classes are not anymore difficult. In fact many classes are easier for students that keep up with reading assignments. More discussion and less testing. Also plenty of seminars to take. As was pointed out, she can always drop out of it.

And upon completion of their collegiate careers, the 1st round draft picks of the job market. Best is the standard.

I refused honors housing “Clemson House” for fear of being branded a geek. Probably a major contributing factor to my short stay in the program. I think it worked out fine, though. I loved my time at Clemson as a “normal” student.

Depending on the major, some of the classes and their subjects are more interesting than the regular classes.
