What should my expectation be for the VT game?

Asking because today I learned that we should expect to lose even when we’re favored to win… but now we’re underdogs so I’m just not sure
Also, does anyone know how much the VT assistant coaches make, how nice their facilities are, and how loud their band is?

Think for yourself! Or google what to think if you must . But I’d really recommend free thinking. Good luck!

Also, because the other day Mountaineers called into question the fact that people have career nights against us quite often, that night Lamar Patterson tied a career high with 30 points, including a 3-pointer with 3 seconds left on the clock… you’d think maybe in that situation we would’ve thought to guard the dude with the hot hand but nope, too much for the Brad Brownell Boys

It seems an opposing player has a career night every other game
Thats what i called into question. That is obviously very incorrect.
So far this season, we have had multiple people have career nights. It happens, but doesnt seem to happen all too often to us. Why dont you look up the stats on that if you want to make a claim. Prove me wrong!

El ellis had 4 games last year where he scored over 28 points. His highest scoring game was against miami where he scored 33.
So is it unacceptable for players to simply have good games against us? It certainly wasnt a "career night". This is kinda my point, that most people on here dont know what they are talking about.

Disagree… I’d say he’s had 4 career nights last year and one of them came against us
I also never said it’s unacceptable… I mean players will go off for time to time, look at Schef on Saturday, kid played great… but it does seem to happen against us a lot

So a career night is any time a player has a good game. Kewl!
I would agree with you then. In a lot of games we play, opposing players have good games.
So this season we have had a bunch of players that have had "career nights" by your definition!
Hall with 2 career nights, ian with a couple career nights, chauncey wiggins, rj godfrey, joey g with at least 1.
We must be killing it!

Also, i forgot to ask......At what point total would "career night" stop for el ellis? He had many 20+ point games that season. Or does the "career night" point total conveniently stop at 28 which is what he scored on us?

Im wondering what your definition of career night is. From what i can tell, ell ellis had 6-7 career nights just last season.
I believe having a career night is the best game of your career. But what do i know?

Yeah but even then how do you define and definitively say that was the ‘best game’ of someone’s career?
Point scored is obviously a very big thing, but what about rebounds, assists, free throw/shooting percentages, fouls drawn, defensive efficiency, did you elevate the guys around you, was it a blowout or did you hit clutch shots under pressure, did you play the sisters of the poor or Duke/Carolina, did your team win?
If you want to quantify all these things then go for it (I’m always up for spirited debate!) but you’re not gonna change my opinion that Ellis balled out (more than he usually did) and lifted his team to victory when we played them last year.

I’ve seen and been to 100’s of games. Brad Brownell has seen an inordinate amount of the “career night” players.
2011 is right.
Why do you defend Brad Brownell so hard? Are you related to him? Tell the truth.

Which web browsers dont work for the ignore function? Why dont you use the same web brower every time you log on? A good oneness google chrome and you can download it on any device. It's not rocket science. This seems to be a you problem.

You corrected nothing. You’re just lying repeatedly. It’s there for anyone to review.
Jack Clark starting this season Hubert Davis paid more than Brownell UNC being top 10 being “above average” for them. Miami, who’ve been to less NCAA tourneys than Clemson, expecting Final Fours Hemenway on pace to be most elite ACC 3 pt shooter in 30+ years How many 1 seeds were knocked out the NIT
These are all the things that you were wrong about in your quest to aggrandize Brownell. Then you’ve lied about it, ad naseum.

If you are using his definition of career night then yes you are correct. We have also had players with career nights in over half of our games this year.

about Clemson basketball. Such as:

Etc.
I wonder if they know how misinformed they are. My guess is no.

high / highest he has ever had at VTech - since every college kid is now a mercenary and you have to look at stats based on what school they are at now.
But call into question all you want . . . . we know what we know - Clemson ? Chance at a career night, for sure.

Gave up on Brad, unfortunately yes… Gave up on Clemson, absolutely not
Ultimately I just want what’s best for our university, and while Brad obviously has a high basketball IQ and I do respect him as a person/ambassador of the university, I question his ability to motivate and get the best out of his teams game in and game out… that’s why we can’t inbound the ball in a critical moment, have multiple loses as the higher seed in the NIT, and/or go 1 of 18 from three in big games

So you are disappointed in the administration’s choice to retain, fair? While I’m sure we have had a bad inbounds or two since 2013, I would assume Neff is tracking all that on the report card. Free throw % used to bother me too. Notice that’s not one of your concerns. Thanks.

Completely agree with your point on Free Throws… we’re night and day better then we were under OP and one of the better FT teams in the country now. I also really love the focus he has on D… we regularly hold teams below their scoring averages, so there’s definitely some things that BB teams do markedly well.
But in regards to ‘should we retain him, I struggle. I mean obviously I want to see Brad do well and the logic for why we’ve retained him YoY makes sense…But these ‘odd’ loses have piled up and seem cultural to me, and if the culture hasn’t changed after 14 years it’s reasonable to assume it may never change.
To be clear, I’m not advocating for him to go mid-season… we have a talented team (that BB put together) and I plan on watching / going to as many as I can… I’m just going to be cautious because of the numerous times I’ve had hope and been let down

For the record, OP was not the only coach we have had to have poor FT shooters. I’d go all the way back to Ellis on this one and all coaches in between.

To me, and this is just my opinion, we are a mediocre team athletically. We lack players who can consistently make their own shots or get to the rim and draw fouls. We also rarely get out on the break. This means our efficiency is magnified in importance. If we shoot well, I expect a win. If not, we will be in a dog fight.

You have to wait for Judge Keller to tell us after the game if we had any right to expect to win against a great team like VT.
It's important!

I mean VT did win the ACC Tournament one time in 2022 so I’m pretty sure it’s expected they do it again… Just like how Miami made the final four for the first time in program history last year and now their fans expect them to be there every year from now until the end of time
