What is your definition of success?

This time of year, before the season even starts and we start to alter our expectations based on what we see on the field, I like to think about what I should be happy with come the end of the year.
Last year, I thought three things:
1) Beat SC (failed) 2) Win the ACC (success, by the skin of our teeth) 3) Make the Playoff (success, and thought we had a good showing against Texas)
So was the season a success based on my pre-season hopes? Maybe.
This year I think the goals are higher. Mine are:
1) Beat SC (critical) 2) Win the ACC 3) Make final 4 of Playoff
Maybe a bit lofty. But I like to remind myself too that if we have a great season and don't win it all, it's still a great season. Go Tigers!

Beat the dirt peckers and it’s a successful football season.
Everything else is icing on top.

So - and I'm being serious - if we beat SC (and for the sake of argument, let's say we beat them soundly), but otherwise go 5-6, you would consider that a success this year?
I'm not saying that's right or wrong, just interesting to see how folks define a good year.

If we went 5-6 beating the coots we’d end a dreadful season on a high note. But not a successful season because we would have missed the majority of other success markers. But personally, beating the coots is the most important one when looking at success markers individually

BEST IS THE STANDARD AT CLEMSON

Anything less than the best is a disappointment. I'm hoping for an undefeated season, but I would settle for 12 wins. Key word, "settle". However, I believe that Clemson does earn a berth to the playoff and I believe they will play for the National Championship.

I agree with yours as for a successful season.
Beat the coots. Win ACCCG MAKE FINAL 4 PLAYOFF
IF WE GET TO FINAL FOUR PLAYOFF, I WILL THEN expect us to win it all.

Win a playoff game.

The ACC stinks, so winning the conference and making the playoffs doesn’t seem like much of an achievement to me. If we can win a playoff game against a legitimate non-conference opponent, that would be a successful season to me.
