Over the holiday weekend, the wife and I had the great opportunity to visit Nebraska and North Dakota; the last two states that I had never set foot in. Now I can check that off my list.
Funny thing happened while in the elevator at the Holiday Inn Express in Fargo: two couples were talking and one asked the other "so, what brings you to North Dakota?" They answered "we are trying to visit all 50 states and this was next on the list." The lady that asked the question then said "that's why we're here too!" So I guess it's not a strange quest since there's not many other reasons to visit ND.
By the way Omaha >>> Fargo.

Congratulations on getting it done. I have both Dakotas, Oklahoma and Hawaii left to get them all.

I’ve got ND and Alaska left.
I suspect a LOT of people go there for this exact reason!

DO NOT MISS ALASKA! It is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. We went there on a cruise many years ago because it was a bucket list place for me. After that, my cousin moved to Homer, AK and we have been up there several more times to visit her. You see moose in fields and along the side of the road like you see deer here. The first time we went to Denali National Park was fantastic. The last time we didn’t see as much wildlife because a rock slide had limited how far into the park you could go. We’ve been whale watching a couple of times and one time it was like a Prudential Insurance commercial. We had a cow and calf breaching about 200 yards away. The train from Fairbanks to Anchorage and on to Seward is a great way to travel and see the scenery without having to drive. We will be going back again, probably next year. Just the drive from Anchorage to Homer is 5 hours of jaw dropping natural beauty.

Omaha>>>Fargo???? No way unless you are just strictly basing on city? I am not a city person and I can assure you there are tons of better views and outdoor experiences in ND vs Corn-braska. Problem is when in the corn-belt, you could be in about 10 different states and not know you have travelled.
My parents live in Iowa and I hate to visit because its all the same. They have 15,000ac of corn or soybeans pending on cycle surrounding them and you have what they call the corn sweats. Its just humidity created by plants shutting down photosynthesis as sun sets and the sour humid smell ramps up until wind blows or sun gets hot.
Its interesting for a day or two but give me some trees and and some water (lakes, rivers, creeks, oceans) or mountains with elevation change.

Meant to add, I really don't know exactly but I think I am at 47 states. Only ones I think I have missed are Rhode Island, Vermont and Oregon. But I have covered 9 or 10 of Canada's Provinces and territories plus I have been on 6 continents missing only Antarctica.
I have Antarctica, Japan, Iceland, Greenland, Tibet or Mongolia, interior of Brazil Amazon, Peru (Machu Pichu) still on my list. I used to want Siberia but its basically the same as interior AK except they have Tigers.
I was fortunate to have a job that sent me around the world and while working there I was diagnosed with cancer so I made sure I checked lots of locations off my list while working.

Yes, strictly based on the city. All Fargo seemed to have was the Fargo movie museum. The Viking museum listed on "top things to do in Fargo" is actually across the bridge in Minnesota.
