So, Trump has lamented more than once how much easier his authoritarian counterparts have/had it--Putin, Xi, Kim Jong Un--and how they have the ability to simply squash dissent and silence opposition press and media. He's actually said these things (also repeatedly downplayed here by the MAGA crowd). It's such a stretch to imagine him believing he can order police to shoot protesters in the legs, isn't it?
