to start conflict between factions. After 3 days of feeling bad I finally relented & took a home Covid test and it is positive. Kinda weird after more than two years working in schools and going as I pleased and never catching it- had symptoms a couple of times but had negative tests. FYI - the first strain had reports of loss of taste but My taste for sweets & salty things have increased to a level that is very unpleasant .Runny nose and general aches are the worst symptoms so far. Have noticed that I feel better if I am outside in the heat than when inside but get tired quickly.

Think that had to do with the vaccines. I’m afraid Covid like other things we deal with yearly is here to stay. Hope you get to feeling better @clover65.

I hope this is short lived and a mild case. No need to justify waiting to test. Most doctors say if you test too soon you may get false negative results. You probably picked the perfect time to test!

I’m curious what testing does for you? I hear folks talking about getting a flu test as well. I have never known anything that cures the flu or Covid. Does it not just have to run it course? When I had Covid no one told me I had Covid I lost my taste and felt bad so instead of spreading it I stayed at home until I felt better.

Just an example…my dad is elderly and has COPD…is on oxygen. I am his caregiver, am in his house every day, and take him to all his appointments. He can’t afford to get Covid, the flu, or anything else really…Covid would probably be the worst for him…so I test fairly regularly

Just an example…my dad is elderly and has COPD… Yes, many of us are "elderly" too. Not sure when elderly begins but if I die in a way that gets in the news "elderly" will be the descriptor. Can't change that.

of vitamin D for a few days! I heard one doctor say he took 50,000 iu every day for 3 or 4 days as soon as being diagnosed. I take 8000 iu every day...will probably increase that greatly if diagnosed.
I has been reported that almost every one who ended up in the hospital with co-vid had low or border line low vitamin D levels!

Hmmmmmm....if you think vitamins are good, why not take them daily? I've taken C and E daily since 1976. I think they help the immune system. Why wait til you're sick? Just sayin'.

Testing positive should warn a person to keep away from others. Therefore, early testing is a good thing. Some of us have other maladies and don't want covid on top. Personally, I have been recently diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. Look it up. There is no cure but I've been told I can "live with it". For how long? Docs haven't said. And I don't ask because they don't know. Bummer.

3 years after the pandemic, even people that took the vax and boosters. Not trying to be political, just observational. I only took the one J & J shot.
I've been fortunate to be one of few it seems who have never gotten covid and I've had a compromised immune system with an autoimmune disease (RA) since 2005. Hard to explain other than divine intervention, but I'm not exposed to as many people as you are. Hope and pray you heal quickly.

I had it at Christmas and never had any symptoms. Only a runny nose and nothing else. Only thing that bothered me was I stayed tired for awhile. Doctor gave me the pill that I wasn’t too sure of, but it seemed to help. Don’t know whether it was related to this or not, but when I got over it I had a mild stroke but came out of that ok. Just weird I thought. Get better and hope everything goes well. Push fluids.

Hope you feel better! I work in healthcare and had it for the 4th time last week. First 2 times, virtually no symptoms.
Last 2 times, 3 days of feeling horrible with last day the worst. 4th day almost completely better. All my positives have been post Vax.
Wife works at same hospital and had it few days before me. As with all the other times she’s had it, never really felt bad.

Whatever people say and think about the "vaccine", the covid is real. Its the flu, and for some people, its no joke. Had it myself about a year ago. Pestered the crap out of me for a little over a week. Got it while on vacation. Oddly enough, we took the 9 hour drive home and nobody else got it. Hope you feel better soon. And dont forget, sweet and salty, just makes sure there are no nuts in it......

there is a new strain out there, even with Omnicron,. around 10% reported loss of taste and smell. You are probably through the worst of it, the fatigue is because your oxygen levels are low. I remember the body aches were awful, I could not get comfortable for the first few days, then I felt more or less fine, but had fatigue and trouble focusing. It sounds like you have a mild case, or you would not be up and about.
feel better.

Same here, tested positive for first time yesterday. I cut the grass Friday and was sneezing afterwards, which is not unusual. I realized yesterday I had left my allergy/decongestant out of my pill container. I took one, but by 11 I was more congested and had a runny nose. Did 2 tests and called my Dr. He called in Paxlovid. Felt rough last night with slight fever but better this morning. I hope you will too!
I went to an outdoor concert Tuesday night and had no known exposure.

I stayed with friends after the concert and on friend had just flown in from CA on the day before. He started symptoms Thursday night but couldn't get a test at 4 pharmacies. Felt rough for a day or so but better now. I am much better today. Clover65® I hope you are too!

My Mom just got out of the hospital after 5 weeks due to COVID. She was totally normal before she got COVID. Now she needs oxygen, her motorskills are shot, and her brain is fried. She is easily confused.

Hope you get well soon. My wife and I both got it in November of last year probably during our trip to ND. My symptoms started the day after we got home and my wife started the next day. For both of us it seemed to be somewhere between a cold and the flu as far as severity. Lasted 3-4 days. But I coughed for 5 months afterwards. It’s too hot to be working on deer stands and cutting brush today anyway.
