We should be thankful to the coots for exposing a weakness

Nov 25, 2018, 7:13 AM

in our secondary. Most of us have known that CLEMSON stops the RUN, but those quick passing routes are our weakness. Dook and Daniel Jones help confirm that weakness that SU and Dungey exposed earlier this year. However, your QB has to have a great night, your OLine has to probably hold on every play and not get called for it, and your receivers have to make every catch count just to come anywhere close to hanging with CLEMSON. Coots can rejoice that they managed to score a couple of late TD's with their 1's against our 3's and 4's, and get a single turnover with our 4th string RB missing the hand-off. It's sad, but they can relish the idea that they can compete with the CLEMSON subs.

But you didn’t notice that we were scoring on their subs because of injuries.

We weren’t playing our 3’s and 4’s late. Simmons is a starter that got burned on the last TD. Terrell is a starter that got burned on the TD to give them 28. The whole “they scored garbage time TDs on our 3’s and 4’s” is an incorrect and frankly ignorant refrain that dismisses just how atrocious that performance was.

Personally I would be very happy with a 21 point win against you guys. Not sure what everyone is so upset about. South Carolina has a good passing team and a good group of receivers. So to say we scored against your third and fourth string Is an out right lie. You had your starting quarterback and starting running back in on the last plays of the game. That doesn’t sound to me like a team that was playing for stream defense of guys. Your defense will be fine but everyone knows if you can pass you have a chance to beat Clemson. The problem is there’s not a team in the ACC with a pulse of a passing game. You were to toughest games this year were against middle of the pack SEC teams

“That doesn’t sound to me like a team plying it’s 3rd or 4th string D.” (Dang this talk to text can mess up a post)??

Hey I loved every aspect of this game. Chickens did a great job passing and throwing everything at this game. I like that you didn't run a lick and no moral victories when you can't punch it in from the 2 ......twice. Our offense was a machine that did what it wanted....and that was run the ball. I am not delusional to think we beat a talented defense because y'all are just bad. The refs kept it from being even more than one sided than it could have been. Good for them. I'm sure that's all they intended....SEC just means more and all that. Loved the atmosphere and how your players felt they could take their helmets off without risking a closed head injury. How after the game your players and fans felt safe to mingle on the field. Far different from my experience leaving your stadium. The difference.....we know how to win. Experience is a great teacher. Go Tigers!
