With Matthews.
Clemson may not actually be WRU, Clemson is always in that debate for the label. Tennessee certainly has not been. Of course present situations must be known when talking about WRs at both programs, but we have produced more in recent years.
If you can give an argument that makes me believe Tennessee has a better program than Clemson, please say it. Disregarding my bias, Clemson has to be objectively looked at as better than Tennessee when it comes to a program.
With the allegations and only one year of Orange Bowl success in forever, the only thing that could take Matthews away is money.

It could be anything but the most referenced comment has been his desire to play in the SEC. I think he bought into the conference hype and that was the biggest swing in his decision. Not much Dabo can do about that for now.

Yes, playing in the SEC was a factor. How do you say it is hype? No league can come close to national championships by several different SEC schools (not just one school like over there), by far puts more in the NFL, number one in attendance, number one in viewership and on and on. That's not hype. It's fact and the really good ones want to play against the best which is the SEC there, too.

Hype is the self promotion of a perceived advantage. If they felt it was obvious then they wouldn't need to tout it at all. We've heard from multiple recruits about the negative selling of the ACC compared to the SEC that most of these coaches employ. I'm not saying it is wrong, I'm simply saying it exists. The reality is if this kid works hard, stays free from injury and plays to his potential he is going to succeed no matter where he goes.

One thread you insist it's playing in the SEC then you wonder, back to insisting.
Congrats on the commitment. 99% of people that have a clue here knew three weeks ago where he was committing. Can't get them all, but usually the ones we don't hit on don't make much of an impact anyway. History doesn't lie.

I agree. This is being used against us and it’s working. Being in the ACC puts us at a competitive disadvantage due to recruiting. The gap is widening.
We would immediately improve our recruiting once we get into the SEC. Our current recruiting has been good but does not reflect our accomplishments. We would be in the top 3-5 in recruiting

You should look at these things you say and also apply them to us. Clemson was coming off of a 6-7 losing season and a bowl loss to USF and we got Sammy Watkins. Was that money? Sometimes players want to go where they want. Congrats to them and move on.

Apparently not. We used to make fun of people that said players chose Clemson because of money. Now it's doing the same thing. Take off the glasses, Tennessee looks to be building a decent program. Hate them, toxic fans who have nothing in any one under 30s memory, but tip of the hat. Go get the next one.

At other schools the recruiting line probably goes something like this...
OSU/TN/USC/LSU/FSU etc. If you play here, you are going to play in MY offense. It isn't going anywhere. If you go to Clemson, who's offense are you going to play in? It's not Dabo's, so you are going to be at the mercy of whoever comes in next. MY offense isn't leaving. Can Clemson say the same?
That has been the killer for WR recruits since Elliot became a HC candidate and Jeff Scott left.

Money wasn’t the issue. If I had to put my finger on it he caved to the recruiting pitch G. Riley will be gone within 2 years.

despite having several of their key players out, and their offense last season put up numbers much better than ours, and you can’t see how they might be considered a better program than ours?
Don’t get me wrong, our last 5-10 years are much better than theirs, and our program is far more ethical, but right now they are the better program based on the two most important metrics: overall wins last year and head to head last year.
But sure, go ahead and blame money or cheating or whatever else makes you feel better about losing a recruit we really wanted (and needed).

JK knows nothing about football. When you have more total yardage than the other team they did not “beat the snot” out of you. Our primary problem in that game is in Athens. We didn’t lose to a superior program.

I wouldn't say beat the snot out of. Not saying we should have some, but if not for the missed field goals, that were just out of this world compared to BTs career, that late interception that could have been a TD decided the game. We had no problem moving the ball. We had bad execution. Streeter didn't cost us the win, he cost us a chance to win though. Every other drive we were inside the 20. It reminds me of another coach on campus who can't put the dagger in. Can't seem to remember his name.

JKs football comments are like an A hole husband who trashes his wife's weight for 10 minutes, then bails out by saying "but it's not your fault, we just need to work on it."

I can give you many examples from last year of why we are a better program than those teams.
What evidence can you give me from last season that we are a better program than Tennessee?
