Yes we did. But we also turned the ball over 3 times in a row with about 2 minutes to go in the game. We had our chance to win in spite of the horrible officiating.

I agree but with how poorly Duke shot from the line we should have won going away. The last minute they stole the ball twice. We have them the game as much as the officials did.

It was stolen by their other guard, #0 and he had just almost stolen it 3 seconds prior. Why, up 4, are we throwing cross court passes when we just need to run the clock down and try for an easy 2 and a foul?
That play drove me nuts but more mad at the refs. I knew when the second half started with us sitting at 5 fouls to 1 that the refs were “doing their job.”

Yep. We should have fouled Filipowski out with about 4 minutes to go in the game. Should have taken it right at him every time down the court when he came back in.

I’m sitting here watching at home with my wife and as soon as he came in with 4 minutes to go I’m hollering to take it at him. Instead we let him take it to Schieff and get Schieff fouled out.
Hate to see Schieff turn the ball over near the end. He has left it all in the court all year. The first one was as much on Chase as on Schieff IMO.

Got screwed by bad coaching in the last 1:30. Brad couldn’t just let them play and kept yelling and pointing out where to be they got flustered and turned over the ball 3 times. That’s on the coach. They dominated the previous whatever it was 6-8 minutes. Players played well hustled and played with lots of guts.

Stop making excuses. It’s the same ending always. Don’t blame the refs and don’t blame the players.
Brownel is the blame. The team plays with zero confidence at the end of games. The guys play tight, make bad decisions and blow close games. It’s a pattern. Time for a new coach.

Can’t watch games at Duke or UNC. Same BS every year concerning the refs. Hard to beat either one of those teams, and when you can’t get a fair shake with the refs it makes it nearly impossible.
Just caught play by play on the ESPN app and read what was said on here.
Problem was I could not get what happened on the technical and why Beadle would foul in that end of game situation with the lead.

Sometimes it makes you wonder if and how much money the refs bet on the game. It happens so don’t say it doesn’t. Did it happen tonight? Who knows but I do think that such an elite basketball conference should invest in elite officials. Those officials should be at the high school level not college
