Love Clemson baseball but this pitching staff is not good. Not even remotely good enough to make it to Omaha.
And i know its February. You do not just build up 88 mph arms into 93-95 arms in a matter of months.
JUCO rosters right now have more gas than Clemson does.
Pitchers who are in the Omaha realm demand millions.

You know baseball well you must have played. It’s definitely the one sport where the second weekend you can definitely know of a team is good enough or not. It’s a very short season and the head coaches typically don’t make any lineup changes throughout the season. Thanks for letting us know the season is over.

We are 3-1…it’s February pipe down. We gonna get some guys back. Just like people panicking that cam is out game two today…he is resting. I hope some of yall don’t watch any more games or attend them. Just like I was at game one and now at game two. Many left in a tight game. But my gah football typically colder and people will stay.

Who knows right now, but it is a fact that since the 90’s early 2000’s when you just win games 17-13, that you have to be strong in not only weekend starters but at least 4 or 5 deep in the bullpen.
Clemson hasn’t had that in awhile which is inarguable. The teams that make it to the CWS have. Fortunately, Bakich has received more support by the university than any other baseball coach has in recent history to fix that issue.
Time will tell if he is another Monte Lee or Bill Whilhelm

You could be right about Omaha but judging this off Jacob McGovern first career start and relief appearances by Nathan Dvorsky and bj Bailey seems a little harsh

Biggest thing tbat I see is a failure to hit the ball the other way. We have runners on base and we are giving in to outside pitches by rolling over and creating tailored made DP balls. Falling behind in tbe count is tbe cause of this. First pitch grooved pitches are not being hammered. Backich will "adjust" their thinking. Early season, I'd rather be scoring 9 runs while I wait for my pitchers to settle rather than losing 2-1 games because I can't score. This team is loaded!!!

The preseason hype of baseball has reached almost the same level as football. Every year we are convinced to have very high expectations of these 2 programs. Hard to meet.

I for one have expectations that are probably too lofty. I do not know enough about the pitching staff to speak too how far they could possibly go. Just reading on the board my expectations are definitely way off base.
