We only have 3 scholarship QBs on the roster with Helms leaving

and don't have one committed in the 2024 recruiting class. Won't be shocked if Klubnik or Vizzina hits the portal in the spring if they don't win the starting job. Don't want to see Paul Tyson on the field unless it's a blowout.

And not just one to be third string and hold the clipboard.
No, we need a guy who wants to compete for a starting job. And we need Dabo to allow a true QB competition.
I don’t expect this to happen, but I believe it would benefit our team greatly in the long run.

I love the kid, but we aren’t going to be the Clemson standard with him. I’d love to see him pull a 180 and see open receivers, not go down on first contact, read defenses, not be sporadic, be accurate, not endanger his receivers and ball out next year; but I don’t see it. We need a different dude or at least healthy competition to push as above poster said

Vizzina is the #2, Pearman the #3 and if you have to rely on the #3 for more than spot duty the season's likely circling the drain anyway. I'd rather not burn a scholarship on someone who'll never play a meaningful snap—Anyway we have a 4th QB, Colby Shaw, on the roster –

Haymus 12 - it's obvious you haven't been on TNet very long. Clemson doesn't need a QB. They've got a 5 star QB already. So what he's prone to throwing interceptions, is not very fast a foot, improvises on plays called by the coaches, doesn't have a real strong arm, and plays like a deer in the headlights. He's a 5 star prospect and Clemson doesn't use the portal for QBs to play just to hold the clipboard.

McCall from Coastal would be a good one but won't ride the bench or hold the clipboard. Remember, our 2nd string QB has no experience on the college level.
