We are a spoiled fan base

We have climbed to the top of the mountain twice in the recent past and we have taken for granted how hard it is to win consistently. We have won the league 7 out of the last 8 seasons and we have come to expect great things out of our football program. I think this program might need some adversity. Sometimes it takes wake up calls like tonight to get something done. If I died tomorrow I would still die happy knowing I got to witness reaching the pinnacle of college football twice in my lifetime and how overjoyed I was when we did it. I believe we have the right coach and we need to get behind him and support him. I’m not saying we shouldn’t be upset with the outcome of tonight’s game. Just be thankful for what Dabo has brought to our program.

You can be thankful for what Dabo has accomplished and still question the wisdom of continuing to pay him and his staff $20 million a year when he is no longer accomplishing those goals.

Yes I agree with that statement. I’m not saying we should be complacent. This is just what happens when you win consistently like we have under Dabo.

But we have not consistently won like is expected of one of the higest paid staffs in college football.
Sorry guy but the last three seasons are not nearly good enough for what was paid out.
Quit chalking yp wins in a largely weak schedule as something to be proud of. Yay we beat Wofford or Syracuse so we should be oh so thankful. Shove that load of horse malarkey in someone else's face.

Ya man you’re right. Tonight definitely screamed we got what we paid for in 9 million for a head coach and 2 million for an OC. They definitely are worth it in todays college football but hey at least Cade will do some community service and graduate with 2 degrees for free. We are so lucky that’s worth playing qb worse than my intramural squad performance. Worst case I’ll reach out to a few guys see if they’ll sign care

I agree to some point but Davi’s ego got us to the top and it looks like Dabo’s ego to not change will make us middle of the pack. 4 teams on our schedule used the portal to get better and we held still and ignored our weaknesses.

I don't feel like asking for a win against DUKE is being spoiled. They have been the doormats in a weak conference for years. This should've been a layup regardless of how well they played last year. The talent disparity is as big as the grand canyon.

Can’t disagree with you there. I still think we have become so obsessed with making the CFB playoffs because we feel like we are in the same breath as UGA Bama Ohio St that we cannot fathom losing to a team ranked outside the top 25 on the road.

If you listened to Duke's coach after the game you will be reminded of the way Dabo used to talk. Humble, aw shucks Dabo left the building a long time ago. I really hope this is the final wake up call needed to truly re-evaluate and reload but I don't know if his ego will allow him. I hope it will.

We pay our football coaches among the highest in the country. We have top shelf talent and among the best facilities in college football, and just lost to a basketball school by 3 TDs.
We aren’t getting a good return on our investment right now. That isn’t debatable.
If some of you want to reminisce about our amazing run years ago that’s fine, but at some point you have to be able to look in the mirror at what you see right now. It isn’t good.

Man it’s Duke. I don’t care if they a decent team. If we are anywhere close to the NC contender or even close to top ten we’d have won comfortably. This loss brings us to reality that we won’t be winning 10 plus again. We are back to mediocre. Yeah that stings most Clemson fans .
