Everyone remembers the dog thing, no one goes back and reads what he did when he got out of jail including paying off millions he owed people, when he could've just said f it and gone on with life. I happen to be a fan of post prison Vick and think he has an uplifting story to be told. But y'all all remember the dogs, yet vote for people who actively steal from you

Yeah FWIW Vick actually turned it around after prison.
Dude came back and tried to make amends and I haven't read anything that says it was disingenuous.
I certainly wasn't a fan after the stuff came out about the dogs but I respect that he owned up to the horrible things done and actually did things after prison to try and right wrongs instead of just lip service.
Doesn't mean the past is wiped from memory but I think it bodes better than most celebs/high profile people that say the right things and do nothing more.

No, what Vick did will never leave folk's memories, nor should it. It might get repeated.
That being said, Vick was judged, sentenced, and from a societal viewpoint, paid his debt. He has since worked with the SPCA for years educating young people against exactly what he was accused and convicted for. At first it was mandatory as a condition of his release. But he continued long after that requirement was filled, and may still be working with them on some level. He has not run from the embarrassing situations since he was released, but taken them on and tried, as some have alluded to, make amends for what he did.
Even before any of this came to light, Michael Vick had given millions to Boys & Girls clubs in both his hometown and Atlanta and likely elsewhere for new facilities, improvements to facilities and equipment to keep kids off the streets.
Michael Vick was one the best athletes I've ever seen in person, if not the best, but he is just like the rest of us in that he is human and fallible. His mistakes were horrible compared to most, but with God's grace, that is behind him. I hope he does your QB some good both on and off the field.

Yes, as a Christian I do believe in second chances and Vick has been given one. Hopefully, he has turned his life around, but for better or worse what he allowed and went along with, in severely and brutally abusing those animals will follow him the rest of his life. He had God-given talent and was a phenomenal athlete and threw it all away for selfish reasons and cruelty to animals. I do hope and pray that’s what he will be “mentoring” DJ and these other impressionable young men on and not on NIL $ and business opportunities.
And no, I don’t vote for people that steal from me…they should all be thrown out after a couple of terms.

Don’t see the problem. He paid his debt to society, and has tried to be an asset to young athletes ever since.

Vick didn't just fight dogs. He sadistically tortured and murdered dogs. He strangled them to death with ropes while he laughed. He clipped jumper cables to their ears and threw them in his pool and laughed while they electrocuted and drowned. He's a scumbag human and it's sick that anyone treats him with any dignity.

Because Michael Vick was one of the best quarterbacks to play the game? He was a literal cheat code on Madden he was so good in his time. Even after the year he spent in prison he still put up solid numbers with the Eagles the first two seasons back.

His skills don’t really translate to many other people. I think his arm was the most powerful one I’ve seen. His speed and agility made pros look like boys against a man in a league where the skills are normally comparable. All that said he doesn’t offer much in the QB space. He never could throw a timing route because his first instinct was to move around and buy more time or take off. I remember watching Falcon receivers half heartedly run routes knowing the ball wasn’t coming when it should and they would have to extend/improvise while he scrambled.

De'Anthony Thomas???

(For the record, Oregon is my second favorite team after Clemson)
De'Anthony Thomas left UO in 2014, is nearly 30 years-old and is getting mentored by Michael Vick? That seems strange to me. His NFL career is almost certainly over.
I get DJ, Malachi Nelson, Makai Lemon and other youngsters looking to Vick. They can learn a lot from his experiences and redemption.

Sadly, right now, he's a safer bet as a mentor than DW4.

Vick was found guilty in a court of law and sentenced to prison. Grand jury can’t even find enough to indict DW.
Sadly, many already have found him guilty and think he’s a sexual predator.

The guy played at the highest level, fell from grace, and completely turned his life around in one of the more positive redemption stories of the past decade.
