To recognize the new realities in college footballl and maintain the pride and hubris to continue to believe you are the smartest guy in the room and everyone else is just flat out wrong.
Own it… but more importantly fix it, or do the right thing for the program and move on. And take this entire cr@ppy staff with you…

"New realities"… you mean the transfer portal?? We are using that now. And, as most here just either can’t or refuse to comprehend, most transfer portal players aren’t any better at their new destination than where they were previously. The few that are would be statistical outliers.
But if we do fire Dabo, don’t then turn around and STILL blame him if we turn into post-Frank Solich Nebraska for two plus decades. And if the portal usage is then turbocharged the masses here better not whine if a 2-10 Mike Norvell type season happens.

You should just Copy and Paste this drivel so you don’t have to type it over and over in every thread. Not to mention you’re wrong. Dabo is not the God of Football, there are other good coaches out there, just like there are good players in the portal that can be evaluated and recruited just like high school players are.

money wouldnt be an issue. heck i think elliot would be a good fit here. managed to turn virginia around with limited facilities, would be able to recruit better at clemson and isnt afraid to use the portal

This team is not good. We will be fortunate to make a bowl game and a 4-8 season is a realistic possibly.
Once you accept that truth that are only three possibilities.
1) Our players arent good enough
2) Our coaches arent good enough
3) Some combination of both
If the players arent the problem then we need to clean house and hire an almost entirely fresh staff. If the talent level is at least part of the problem (and I think it pretty clearly is) than it makes no sense to ignore one possible avenue of improving our roster.

No, SLW is right. Didn’t use it enough. Needed to use it sparingly several years ago….not just last year.
The bigger thing is we refuse to recruit at an elite level for high school kids. If You ain’t gonna use the portal that much, cool but you better be eliye at high school recruiting and we are not
We are paying $400,000 a year to guys that are third string. Yeah we refused to pay the going rate for a five star. STIBBORN

Man are you that dumb ? We got a couple portal guys that rarely play outside of Heldt . We needed LB talent , defensive backs , and who knows what else and Dabo refused to use it . But this coaching staff is so bad that no amount of talent can overcome that . You will see massive portal defections and opt outs coming soon . Any player with NFL hopes would be a fool to play for this failed staff . Look at the regression and money lost by Cade, woods , and Parker . We had the last ranked portal class in the ACC and we are the 3rd worst team in the conference ahead of only UNC and BC .these are sad facts !

The only thing we’re fighting for now is to not have the slide last as long as it did in the 90’s for 20 years.
Unfortunately, The way it looks now, we’re not gonna get out of this unless Dabo leaves. We’ve given him 5 years to correct it, how many more years does he need? Honestly… Are we willing to give him another 5 years of seasons like this? Because that’s what we’re looking at… We just lost to SMU at home bc we couldn’t get a defensive stop to save our lives in the 2nd half. Worse, we haven’t beaten a DIV 1 opponent at home since last season
