Never seen so many pro golfers slamming clubs into the ground. Looked like really frustrating conditions. One H&ll of a putt on 18 for the win.

Amen Rhett. Hail to Spaun who grinded and earned a gritty win with a great drive on 17 and a great putt on 18. The man earned it in the toughest conditions!

I started pulling for him when he hit the flagstick on #2 and got robbed by the ball rolling 50 yards off the green. That was ridiculous.

Kudos to him for keeping his cool on #2. His level head and solid play won him a championship!

Thought Hatton's beard was going to catch fire a couple times. Felt the downhill lie to hit over the bunker on I think the 16th wasn't going to end well. Good many of the other guys didn't seem to be having much fun. I had fun watching it. Good to see Mr. Spaun win with a massive putt.

One golfer finished under par. That's kind of nuts.

Yes, great win! Gutty performance to hang in there after all the though breaks on front nine.

If you don't hit the fairway or green, you are in trouble.

Would love to go play there just to see it and feel it. Some of the courses around here the rough is better to hit out of then the fairway lol.

What a great life lesson in 18 holes. 5 over on the front. The man battled backed for a 3 under back nine. He didn't continue to fall apart when things were down. He grinded and turned things around. Gotta love it.

I’m pretty sure the answer to that is no. I’m not a good golfer but I enjoy being outside with friends and it gets me through to hunting season.

Some of the courses on the regular tour need to be tighted up, not necessarily Open conditions, but too many times the events seem to be nothing more than a pitch and putt contest. I counted about 20 guys shooting double digits under par in one event this season.

Deep rough and really fast greens is the only thing that can slow them ball striking machines down.

Certainly deep roughs, but usually they can adjust to fast greens. Fast greens with the kind of slopes that we saw at Oakmont was the problem. It was almost like many greens did not have a legitimate pin placement on them or the area was so small that it was almost impossible to get a shot close.
All professional golfers know how far they can hit the golf ball, so the other factor that gives them fits is not so much fast greens but hard greens. If they can't tell where their ball is going to stop, then that is when they are in big trouble. If it had not been for the rain, and the greens got hard, the scores would have been even higher.
