UGA and the 2024 Safeties

I just don't understand why they have so many committed Safeties. I know the coaches are good people but at some point doesn't playing time factor in.
UGA looks like a commit them all, start one or two, and the rest just transfer situation.

UGA is certainly employing the Bama model of stockpiling talent anywhere they can get it - Let the chips fall where they may. Smart recruits will see through this, and if they care about going somewhere that the coaches see them as more than stars and a number, there is always a spot at Clemson for future Champions.
I see this as a plus for us in helping our chances at swaying him.
Alternatively, I would hope he is not a player that would be scared off by competition. Hope he picks the good guys for the right reasons.
Go Tigers!

As long as Kirby is competing for championships but more importantly, developing guys for the league at the current rate, he'll continue to stockpile talent.

Looking forward to our non-conference tilt next year in Atlanta. Our defense stays at the same level that ended JT Daniels stint in the SEC, and we will be fielding a QB with a pulse. I think competing for championships in 2024 will be more difficult. I know that our offense will be vastly improved, but I am interested to see if your dawgs can put up more than 3 points on our defense.

"it's over"?? Well dang, like Mr. Downhill above, I was looking forward to the '24 game as well. Be that as it may, I guess we'll go ahead and show up anyway. Maybe we'll get lucky yet again.

I'm not AFDawg, but I'll take a crack at it. You're talking about QB for 2024, right? Well a lot can and will happen between now and then, but right now we look to have several options. Carson Beck is eligible for '24, but he may opt for the NFL if he has a good season this year. But if he returns, he'll be a 5th Yr Sr. If he leaves though, we have two highly regarded guys in the wings in Brock Vandagriff and Gunner Stockton. Assuming Beck keeps the starting spot this year, it's expected that whoever is 2nd team will get a lot of reps. You're right, whoever doesn't get 2nd team may transfer out. If so (and Beck goes NFL), we'll be starting a new QB in 2024. We will have two very highly rated Freshmen - who I think are both early enrollees - plus at least one returning backup who will be in either their 4th or 3rd season. Since I think it's unlikely that a true Freshman will start the first game, I'd guess it will be either Vandagriff or Stockton. If I had to guess, I'd say Stockton gets the nod.
That's likely to be one of the very few question marks for us in 2024, and will be one of the bigger storylines over that offseason. We look to be dominant as usual on defense - at pretty much every level (DL, Edge, LB, and DB). We'll be solid if not dominant on OL, at RB and at TE, and we will very likely have one of the better WR corps we've had (which has traditionally not been one of our strengths).
So that's how we look at this juncture. I'll throw it back: how do you see Clemson in '24?

I think Beck will be the starter. If he plays well, no reason to think UGA can't 3-peat. Beck's bigger and a more traditional passer than Bennett, which is why I think Kirby beefed up the WR room with Smtih (Miss State) and Lovitt (Mizzou). As for QB transfers, I wouldn't be surprised to see one of the QBs transfer but as for who, your guess is as good as mine.

Remember when the knock on Georgia was "they get all this talent but still don't win"? Now UGA wins with talent and the narrative is "they're cheating."

Rumors of Woodward, from Bosco, possibly being swayed by schools closer to home
Also, they may be in the same boat as us where they’re poised to loose anywhere from 3-4 safeties
We need to take at least 3 safeties this cycle… we are, without a doubt, (barring any major redshirt worthy injuries) Jaylyn Phillips, Tyler Venables, and RJ Mickens. If Mukuba bounces back, we may lose him as well
It’s not that weird, last cycle Penn St took 4 safeties, although 1 did decommit before the cycle officially ended

Only a matter of time before UGA/ThugU gets blown up for violations...after all it's in their DNA and Kirby seems to be about winning at all costs. So a matter of time. And yes, someone's point about smart recruits will see through it, I'd add smart recruits with high character (come alongside one another usually) aren't exactly the ones looking at or choosing UGA. Also agree that Kirby using the Sagan model of simply stockpiling all the talent he can; difference being when Nick started/was doing it there was no transfer portal so he'd keep that stockpile. Now it's a bit different as you can stockpile out of the gate, but most are going to hit the portal whereas they really couldn't before; so my hunch is he won't have the success at it like Nick did.
Let's face it, UGA hit the perfect timing for their Natty's...not saying they're not stacked with talent and good, but it's clear they hit a perfect window when Clemson and Bama have been semi down. Shoot, even with how bad we were two years ago they only beat us by 7, and that was a gift 7...so back to my point, this run of theirs has been pretty much uncontested. That's about to change.

Been reading for years here about Georgia's obvious cheating. Maybe you'll finally be the poster to point out specific violations.
"Smart" recruits want to play for a coaching staff who will develop them for the NFL.
Is "semi- down" the same as "not as good as we once were"?

I'd day the ongoing arrest record over the years, etc. does plenty of talking. And it's not like the term "ThugU" just came out of no where.
And again, if we had even a 'decent' QB 2 years ago that game to start the year wouldn't have even been close. So no, it doesn't mean "not as good as we once were" because it's clear like bama, we had a lil 2 year QB snafu. When you've been on top for as long as Bama and Clemson it's bound to happen. The nouveau riche don't quite get that apparently.

So you don't have specific examples of UGA cheating?
I read a lot here about Clemson's QB troubles. Kirby just won two natties with a 5 foot-nothing former walk on. Dabo stuck with a 5 star disaster for two seasons, basically costing Clemson a playoff spot last year. You prepared to admit that?

Top recruits are picking UGA for the money in a college football recruiting-rich state. The success is 90% because of the recruiting.
You're starting to sound like the people here you troll over their affinity for Dabo.

UGA moves players around. They brought Mecole hardman in as a safety and moved him to receiver.

Offenses have been punishing defenses for subbing in CBs at nickel and dime because they aren’t nearly as good against the run. So defenses are using more safeties to support against the run, while also being able to defend against the pass.
When Clemson played LSU, we had K’Von, Tanner, Denzel Johnson, and Nolan Turner on the field at the same time plenty of time. We ran a lot of 3-4 safety looks last year as well.
Defenses are trying to put more speed on the field against spread teams that play sideline to sideline without giving up much in the run game. You need safeties for that. Or you need freak athletes at LB (Woodaz brothers, Carter, Simmons).
