Trevor Still Inconsistent..

I get most of the Jacksonville games and Trevor is still making bad throws. He just threw an out route to a WR that was essentially giving piggy-back rides to the corner he was so well covered and the CB jumped the route and got the INT.
The drive before the TL drives them down the field for a run heavy TD and a little help from a DPI.
TL has the physical tools but can't get consistent with forced passed and just flat out bad decision making.
Good thing he signed a big contract

Their WR have the most # of drops by FAR, and he's never once player behind a good OL.
Stats do not nearly tell the whole story. But yes, he needs to clean up some of his decision-making to take the next step.
He's absolutely a top 20 QB.

Yes he’s spent his career behind a really bad oline but he consistently holds the ball too long. Should be doing the opposite.

He has a terrible o-line and his best receiver is Parker Washington. Until they get him some real help around there, inconsistency should be expected.

Well, they screwed themselves trading for Hunter. Awful trade. They gave up a lot. They don't even have a 1st rounder in 2026 now.

Yeah Hunter is a good player but they overpaid. I guess they were hoping he'd be that elite player out the gate and he's been good but not like Jamar Chase or Jefferson out the box. Then you hav Brian Thomas regress and it's like wow.

Especially considering they had the 5th pick. They should have just taken a WR there. They also gave up a 2nd round pick and 4th round pick. Awful trade.

Big Facts. Christian Kirk was probably the most consistent target Trevor has had. That's not gonna cut it.

IMO best thing Trevor could do is be open to being traded to a new team to get a fresh start. If he lands with a functional (KEY WORD HERE) NFL club + staff we'd likely see a bump in consistent play.
I did a deeper dive on this like a week or two ago. Trevor walked into a mess that got messier with the whole Urban debacle. Pederson was a step up but they failed to put a better team around him when he was on a cheap rookie contract. Injuries have also been a thing and that impacts players.
Doesn't mean Trevor bears no responsibility but he's rarely (if ever) had the cards stacked in his favor.

Finally got J Myers to help him.
Get him a quality Tight End and another wide receiver who does not drop half the passes.
Another OL or two and then - judge him.

35-6 at this point so the Jags blow out LA. Shocking that they played great D and were able to run the ball. Things they have not done all year. Trevor has been inconsistent but they have lost their top 2 tight ends and their top 3 receivers. Dyami Brown did see the field but did not record a catch. Brian Thomas Jr is maybe a game away from coming back. Hunter gone for the year of course. Jacobi Meyers is their best receiver and he's been there 2 weeks coming over from Las Vegas. Brenton Strange is on IR but should be back in another couple weeks. This is a bit like Trevor's last year in Clemson. His only threat down the field was Cornell Powell who couldn't even make the league and was just a very average player. But, Trevor completed a boatload of passes to him. Get some of his guys back healthy and holding onto the ball and he will get better. He still has a 66 MPH fastball for those out routes.

3 years ago when Trevor was putting up better numbers - he had a tight end and better wide receivers.
Other than Jacoby, nobody can name any receiver. (Hunter - but out.). Thomas leads league in drops.
Give him some tools and then we can see how good TL can be. I bet on very good. But time will tell.

Reminds me of something Deptula said years ago when the poultry were on their 3rd QB for the year, a young green freshman coot named Jake Bentley. He had played about 3 games for them and before we pkayed them Walt said “We still dont know who Jake Bentley really is” due to his crazy inconsistency. He had a cannon arm and was a big broad shoulder guy who could see the field but just never did the same thing twice, never guessed right, and never got the obvious open man and tried to force the double cover. That is exactly who we have in Klub. If he started out bad and gradually improved that would be one thing, but he is making the same bad reads and seemingly thoughtless play we saw him start with a couple years ago. IMO he’s not gonna fix that. He doesnt have it and no quantity of “workmanlike” repititions is gonna turn the light on for him. He looks like he goes blank if his pre-planned option is not there and goes bananas looking for something that is never gonna appear.

Rough year for sure and he has missed some passes. That said, worst O line in NFL. Missing top two receivers and throwing to former scout team. Also, first 5 games, Jag receivers had more dropped passes than entire NFL…so yeah, he struggles

Jaguars won 35-6 against a good Chargers team (7-4 now). Trevor was 14/22 with 1 TD passing & another rushing.
SMH at all the wannabe football gurus on the board. I didn’t watch the game, but following the thread, I thought surely the Jaguars were the ones being blown out.
