Travis Etienne vs Jonathan Taylor (won Doak Walker award)

Football news outlets are going crazy over Wisconsin RB Jonathan Taylor's yards after contact [deservedly]...and of course we Tiger fans know ETN gets a lot of 'em too.
2018: Taylor: 4.2 yds per carry after contact (Pro Football Focus) ETN: 4.4 yds pr carry after contact (Pro Football Focus)
Clearly, the awards are geared more towards big totals than efficiency--and who knows (hope we never do) what would happen to ETN mid-season if he had 23 carries per game like Taylor...
This is even more fun: Taylor 2018: 280 carries, 1,989 yards, 15 rushing TDs (FYI, very few catches and 0 rec TD) ETN career: 283 carries, 2,232 yards, 34 rushing TDs
So for nearly the same number of carries, ETN:
34!
I'm going to look into how many yards each had in just quarters 1-3...when defenses aren't completely gassed.

Are you trying to compare Taylor's 2018 to ETN 2017 and 2018? Taylor ran for 1,989 yards on 280 carries and 15 TDs in 2018. He ran for 1,977 yards on 299 carries and 13 TDs.

Not at all, the OP is comparing stats vs number of touches in both backs!

Huh?? I frankly re-read your post several times, but still can't make head or tails of it. Etienne was splitting running time with 3 other good running backs, and naturally won't have award-winning totals. Anyone with a brain can see that he is one of the premier, if not the best, running backs in the country. A great humble guy who credits his fellow RB's. Proud to have him as a tiger.

place holder. They didn't throw much at all b/c he was horrible. I watched teh Wisconsin Michigan game this year and it was mind numbing why they didn't just put the backup in. They were afraid of turnovers so he basically didn't throw it unless it was 3rd and long.

Gee, not sure why, but I just haven't been able to bring myself to become an avid follower of Wisconsin football. I'll have to Google them. Are they located on the continental U.S. or on one our territories?? I'm sure it's a wonderful place---Is it named after an Indian tribe?? Was there a Chief "Wisconsin?"

And just think of all the TD's ETN didn't get because "We Too Deep" . . .
He is not always our RB inside the Red Zone.
Dexter got 1, Christian got 2, heck - Adam got 3 against the coots!!!
All of them deserved!
I'm just saying, our "Premier back" isn't expected to carry the load alone. His numbers could be really gaudy if he was the only stud in the stable.
He IS on FRESH LEGS for our Championship Run!!!

I agree. The pros can spot talent. IMHO, Adam Choice also has a future in the NFL. So glad to see him come back and have success.

I agree. And Dabo's policy of playing to our depth is very wise. We have very possibly the best coach in the country, and our D coach is the best ever.
