Sorry if Germans, I had not been paying much attention to this class, but we got ourselves a steal here. This kid is what Venables likes to call "nosey". He is not only one of the fastest kids in this class, but also very well-coached and ready to contribute right away. His speed and athleticism are off the charts. Ryan Day wanted this kid very badly, as did about 30 other programs. I had no idea this kid had committed.
Anyway, sorry if this has been discussed, but we got a gem here.

Right? I had something akin to a brain freeze after sucking down a 52oz slurpee in one gulp. I think I’ll feel better after I wake up, check the bored, and realize it was just one of those strange little side dreams.

Gobs of natural talent, great vision of the field. Quickness, hips, balls skills. He can play man or zone. What’s not to like ?

Most of the other "big boys" didn't really start pushing

him until he visited after the 7on7 in Myrtle Beach, but Clemson had already been doing big work to get him to swing through while over this way... another instance of identifying talent before most and not being moved by offers and stars...

Not sure how you sniff out the things coaches and others seem to miss but I agree this kid is a gem. I think the coaches will validate your assessment and enthusiasm on this one.

nobody missed anything, this kid has all the major offers. The scouting services are off about him, he is one of the fastest kids in the class.

Agree with your post about Pride. Shocked you have a serious post!! Pride will be something special for Clemson in the future.

My very unexpert analysis.
1. Has all the athletic ability needed to excel at Clemson. 2. Has solid technique when playing zone or man.
Only flaw I saw was he's watched too many college and pro defensive backs. When he has a clean shot at a receiver he delivers a big hit, but he doesn't wrap up. Looks impressive, but I'm sure Coach V will "explain" to him the "benefits" of wrapping up when you make the big hit.

I noticed it, too. Hopefully he does learn to accompany a big hit with a wrap-up all the way to the ground. The other thing that is a "pet peeve" of mine is the "referee type" arm crossing after a play is made. May not bother anybody else, but it looks like show boating IMO. Just make your play and get ready for the next one. His coaches and the film reviews will show his great plays, and it'll feature his miscues, as well.

Gosh you sound so old. Show no emotion or you're showboating.

I am old, and I was a Clemson Tiger Football player. Doing what you signed on to do shouldn't require "show boating". A player knows when he made a great play, and so do the fans, his team mates and his coaches. He'll get his accolades from them, and plenty of kudos from his team mates and coaches when the film is reviewed, and the crowd will let him know when he made a great play. He won't have to do it himself. After all, great plays are what they expect you to do. It's why they signed you. JMO

his hips stick to the receiver like glue, his timing, anticipation, ball skills, and body control all superior for a Junior. as far as not wrapping up, he can get away with that for now. That is coachable, everything else is god-given talent.
he reminds me of Tyrann Mathieu in his tenacity and ability to harass bigger receivers., just needs to hit the weights.
