Top 3 reasons to join the SEC
Jul 29, 2021, 1:20 PM

3. More money. Why not get our hands on some of that ???????????
2. Better games. Let's get real. What game this year excites you the most? UConn? NC State? Or Georgia? I bet it's UGA. And imagine playing Auburn, LSU, Ol Miss, and Florida. Much more interesting in the same boring games with Wake and BC.
But the #1 reason Clemson should join the SEC.........
1. Will absolutely floor all the Gamecock fans. That's their only thing they can hang over Clemson, and that would evaporate!!!!! Trust me. This would hurt them even more than watching us win a Natty. They would be devastated if this happens!

Yeah we can argue the other points, but who wouldn't want to punch gut the Gamecocks with that move!

Always amusing when Gamecock fans talk about our schedule

being weak and they're always on it, right there at the end of the season. When they were winning 5 in a row, it was bc they were battle tested. When they're losing, it's bc they've been through a tough schedule.

UofSC is a doormat of the ACC as well.
Their best season in the ACC 7-3. 11-2 is their best in the SEC. Overall record against the ACC is under .500 As a member of the ACC (and using their inferior academic standard) they were 55-53-4, So they did not even win half the time. Only 6 winning season in the ACC (of 18 season) - five in the first 7 seasons. Meanwhile, they have notch a staggering 16 winning seasons as members of the SEC. I mean, in the ACC< they would only have a winning season every 3 years but in the SEC they are 50/50. Sure, they are 98-135 (note they notched 3 8 conf. loss seasons - being awful in the ACC capped the losses to about 5), but it looks like they have traded consistently bad for occasionally mediocre to gaudful. I mean, they normally placed about 5th of 8 teams which included the 1950s era UVA... which still played football with sweaters tied on their waist.

fans in existence. Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing is going to shut them-up because...well...it's just how they are and what they do.
If Clemson was to become a member of the SEC, the first thing you'd hear from them is "no more soft A She She schedule, no more conference championships, no more playoff appearances, and certainly no more National Championships now that you're in a real conference".
Not if but when Clemson proves them wrong (as usual), they'll just come-up with some other lame a$$ excuse or find something else about which to run off at the mouth because, again, it's just how they are and what they do.

One reason not to, unfortunately it is the sole reason to consider. When did South Carolina ever make the "right" decision.

Can finally admit my wife is my sister at football games.
Blah. Neither is worth having to listen to hillbillies with cowbells or those stupid vandy whistles.

I don't swim in the septic tank and I don't want Clemson in the SEC. IMO, the soul of our University is worth more than money can buy.

3. Don't need it.
2. Still don't need it. Dabo does a fine job of making the games exciting by playing backups early and often. That allows the coordinators to evaluate and refine the dept chart and the players.
The fact that I know we're going to win all season long won't change just because we're playing Florida, Tennessee, Vandy, UGA, USCe or anyone else.
3. USCe fans have ducked and covered for the last few years. You'd think we're back in the 1950s and having atomic bomb drills. If they get under your skin you might want to point out our two national championships and six playoff appearances.
