Calling them out doesn't mean your not a fan. The facts are ole Dabo is falling behind the other elites. Mainly because of his ole school thinking. If he keeps it we are not winning another title. Tonight you saw the future of college football. Whoever can buy the most 4 and 5 stars will win. It’s all about money now. I hate to say it but there is no way we can keep up with these large alumni base schools. We just can’t put together the NIL dollars that they can. Having SEC money isn’t enough, you HAVE to be able to put together big NIL packages through alumni groups and or their businesses. We simply don’t have enough of either. I will always love my Tigers but I just don’t see how we can compete. The numbers just don’t add up.

That’s ONE player JK. The large alumni/wealth schools are able to buy entire OL and DL at this point. As others have said, this is just simple math. Having great recruiters, “family atmosphere”, or any other schtick will not win it now.

Uggghhh. That phrase makes me want to vomit. “Take what the defense gives us” keeps being used as some sort of poor man’s enlightenment phrase. Winners take what they want…what they think is rightfully theirs…they don’t wait on handouts.

That is the best post of the day. So true about Dabo. We noticed it during the Covid year that the spark was gone. Not sure why but if you listen to Kirby and you listen to Dabo, it becomes obvious which one is on the hunt. Of course, Smart will probably pack it in mentally in a couple of years due to the stresses of the job. Saban is the only modern day coach who has retained the fire into his old age.

Uh, Stetson Bennett? McConkey? What you saw tonight is what an elite OL will do for you, not to mention an elite DL, but Clemson has had no issues with an elite DL.
The difference is easy to identify, harder to execute: get an elite OL. With an elite OL, it doesn't really matter about the scheme, but Monken is also a great play caller.

Not necessarily. They don't have a bunch of 5* kids running around making plays on O. They do have more on the defensive side of the ball. But on offense they have a few 4* RBs. Their top WR was a lightly recruited undersized 3* kid. The QB is an undersized guy that wasn't recruited at all. Bowers was a 4* recruit.
What sets them apart is urgency. Kirby took the Saban playbook and improved on it. He said it after the game...the worst thing that can happen is entitlement creeps in. Said they didn't have any of that. Their 5*s play just as hard and urgently as their 3*s, and vice versa. There's a reason UGA isn't pushing for Burch, even with Muschamp on staff. He doesn't fit that profile.
