STORRS, Conn. - Jim L. Mora, has been named as the next head football coach of the University of Connecticut, as announced by director of athletics David Benedict on Thursday, November 11. I know he’s done a lot of trashing of Clemson in 2016 and 2018 when we are making our title runs. You’ll be good to watch him get his new team beat to a pulp Saturday.

He has been the OL coach at Alabama. Saban always recycles guys that have a wealth of knowledge therefore he learns in the process.

He has not been the OL coach at Alabama. Kurt Flood was the OL coach at Alabama last season and Doug Marrone is the current OL coach. Are you drinking already?

not a bad hire for their level. Mora fizzled out at UCLA but can win at a lower level considering where their standards are at now.

Mora is a total ##### nozzle and absolutely has something on a personal level against the Clemson program under Dabo. His hatred, along with Rick Needle Hosels hatred, is irrational from a football analyst standpoint so it had to be personal. I wish him nothing but years of pain and failure during his tenure.

I think this is a good hire.
Tough job, but has name recognition and that should draw some portal people.
The shocker was how far the real USC coach fell. Down to ga southern.

UCONN paid $1.5 Million a year to get a coach with a 60% winning record. Wasn't Dabo's first contract about half that? (and I know 12 years makes a difference). Is UCONN a 'well-off' school? I only know that they usually have good basketball programs.
They started football the year after Clemson did, and have had 32 coaches to Clemson's 25 (I just thought that was interesting).

They may have started football the year after Clemson but were Div III then II them 1AA until around 1999/2000. The ONLY success they had in ‘FBS’ was that short run Randy Edsall had in the ~6 years right after them moved into the Big East, and that wasn’t much. I think Mora sees some sort of potential for himself due to the proximity to Bristol/ESPN.

If you are about to be accepted as a new head coach for a team, had you rather accept from a team with a 1-11 record or from one with a 12-0 record?
