I have previously shared a link to the discussion stating why they are not girls or ladies. They are athletes or softball players or student athletes. You can be clued in by the press releases or the stories where the term girls or ladies is never used. Have you wondered why? They deserve and have earned a simple level of respect acknowledging they are college athletes. The gender references or the 16th century England social status references are not necessary or appropriate as we only have one softball team.

This is South Carolina and USA. They are Lady Tigers which is Southern and respectful. True some school don't use word Lady for their female sports teams but they don't count cause aren't respectful and in todays climate they probably don't know difference in boys and girls. If you feel calling the Lady Tigers then you need to move back to UK. FYI without Lady Tigers they wouldn't be Tigers when was last time you saw man give birth.

We only have one volleyball team too and I have been pulling for Lady Tiger VB for decades. Read NCAA rule book school can only have one team.

Every college female basketball team has been referred to as the lady mascot e.g. Lady Tigers basketball team. Same with swimming, golf, tennis, soccer, etc. Because other than football every college sport has a male and female equivalent. Men’s basketball and women’s basketball. Men’s tennis and women’s tennis. Men’s swimming and women’s swimming. And they typically get called ladies. The only exceptions I know of are football, wrestling, and of course softball in place of baseball. I’m sure there might be a few others but they have always been referred to as men and ladies or boys and girls. Because that’s what they are moron! There are people that are transgender but they make up about 1/10 of one percent of the population. And sex and gender are binary, not multiple nor fluid. What’s happening right now is BS and it’s not science. I thought you people believed in science? You’re still waiting on that vaccine to save us? Still think the vaccine is safe with everything that has been revealed recently and with what other countries are doing? Life begins at conception. Fact. Climate change is normal and not an existential threat. Fact.
There’s literally nothing people like you use to be politically divisive where the left actually follows the science. In fact there is no such thing as “the science”. There is the scientific method, which is never “settled”. Carl Sagan described science as the art of getting it less and less wrong!

The female basketball have been the Lady Tigers since first season. Not sure when that was cause Clemson started as men's college. That's why my Dad Clemson Grad married Mom which was from Lander College women's college back them. Clemson and Lander College have bond back them lots of marriages Clemson Lander. Not Lander is University that has men but they still are the Lady Bearcats in athletics.

And this was a bold and great coaching hire. He was arguably the best softball coach in America but got caught up in this politically correct BS going on and was defended by players and parents but of course he had to go so this was a very bold hire, but clearly smart and successful!
