Sounds like it would be easier to make a list of who can practice :(

That's exactly what I was thinking. Will stellato ever take a snap??? Good thing is, the 23 class better be ready. Beaux can't stay healthy.

What the heck is going on? Did we change something. I don't remember ever a time when so many were out b4 spring. This doesn't include the scout team injuries I wouldn't think. Wow.

Outside of Randell who they said was cleaning up his opposite knee, all the injuries seem to be the same from last year. Stellato is recovering from the same acl tear. Beaux needs surgery on the same shoulder that was hurt last season. Those are good signs. Not different injuries.

Not a good sign when a player gets re-injured at the same place on more than two occasions.

Also, not good when a ‘standard’ injury ( such as is the case for ACL) takes much longer than anticipated to get better.

Honestly I think nothing changed except society...

Mar 6, 2023, 5:26 PM [ in reply to Re: TNET: Swinney updates injuries on team ]

In highschool I played baseball one year with a broken thumb on my catching hand and I played outfield but I was best outfielder on the team and didn't want to ride the bench. When I didn't get a pop fly clean in the gloves pocket and went off the thumb, it was pur torture.

I broke my other thumb during state championship wrestling tournament, I wasn't going to quit on myself or my team so I wrapped it up and kept wrestling. Unfortunately it did cost me in the finals as the wrestler knew me and knew I broke it. He would grab my thumb anytime I was getting a hold advantage.

I remember getting a concussion in game on Friday night, back at practice on Tues-Thurs so I could play on Friday even though I was still having migraines.

All that said, society has changed and we are getting softer. Any excuse to not practice gives kids more time tto play video games or to sleep. Kids are not raised to be as tough as we were raised 40-50yrs ago and before. Maybe that wasn't the smartest but there are several injuries mentioned in the thread that would have never stopped me or 95% of the kids I played sports with in the 70's-80's-90's.

I remember my baseball coaches giving me a hard time about my broke thumb. It hurt but they knew I was best outfielder and 2nd baseman. I don't see coaches doing that today but I also see kids taking advantage of small injuries that would have never stopped us from practice or playing 30-40yrs ago. We were afraid of losing our position, letting our team down, or even letting your family down that came to see you play.

I call it Pussification of America but many dont like that term nor do they agree but I played enough sports that I can tell you this is a different era vs my era.

Alright Al Bundy, at the same age, I got money that these kids would work you over like a rented mule. I'm 50, but man I can't stand you people who lump every young person of today into your "young generation" BS. Odds are if you are writing paragraphs about your prowess as a teenager, your team sucked if you were the best and you played hurt because you had nothing better to do or your father would kick your a** if you didn't. Neither make you a better man. Find something better to do with your time. Maybe a cross word puzzle or sewing.

I agree. I went thru what you did except it was the 1960’s in high school. We just need to accept those days are gone.

Good lowered. Pray for all a full recovery. Like to see a few of these young men who’ve been continually bitten by injuries be able to play out a full healthy year. Go Tigers!

It'd be nice. Ghesh, I'll take a few snaps from stellato just out of curiosity. But praying for all of them. They need prayers for patience too. Got to be frustrating for all of them.

Like to see Stellato too. Really liked his HS film. When he didn’t get the ball he was blocking his butt off downfield. Too many receivers watching the play if the ball didn’t come their way the past couple of years.

I'd rather all these players go into Summer and Fall healthy anyway. Getting through the Spring healthy is always a big deal. Plus gives the young guys a chance to blossom and be ready for Fall.

Agreed. Sounds like our new DLs will get some reps.

The Clemson Eggshells because we are a fragile bunch anymore. Injuries are at an all time high and it's getting a little concerning to say the least. Hope this summer and fall we are less injury prone. Go Tigers!!

WT F is going on? I feel bad for some of these young men who absolutely can't get or stay healthy enough to play football to save their lives. Are we doing something wrong, or just that snakebit?

That’s a bummer about Randall. The Tigers really needed all possible receivers available to learn the new system.

Amen on your Randall comment.

Sounds like a scope job on his ‘good’ knee. He’s got limited time to fully heal; scope jobs are not always super quick recoveries.
