I am all in and have been before when Dabo was playing at Bama and will be after Dabo. We are talking about a coach in Sweeney for one thanks everybody is going to be a Hunter Renfro. He makes enough to buy a small island every year. And it’s one of the most highest paid staffs in the country. We aren’t cartoon bowl worthy this year. After every loss, he talks about the good old days. Could go on and on and on with the ridiculousness of coaching hires with this with that. He’s becoming a joke and so is this program.

I believe a lot of posters on TNET forget what it was like to be 18 years old. Also, how quickly would they change their minds about their college choices if they were offered hundreds of thousands dollars or more to go to a different school ? It's not an easy choice, especially for young kids that might not get the best advice from their family, friends or relatives.

I don’t recall if he was from Fairburn GA or a west og ATL town like Carrollton. Maybe some other place.
Anyway, the rumor was GA Tech, after T.Harris had committed to us, had offered Harris a ‘raise’ but yet didn’t blow our offer out of the water. The money (again, allegedly aka rumor) was in the ~$300k to ~$400k ballpark. Even sparser rumors were that, after GA Tech had made their initial (higher than Clemson’s) offer, Clemson matched it.
From this point, the rumors became weaker still, but here goes. Either Harris wanted Clemson to raise the ante by outbidding GA Tech or Clemson said ‘take it or leave it.’
Harris said sayanora.
Whatever the real story, Clemson had decided that T.Harris was not worth an ongoing leap frog bidding and rebidding endeavor.
(I haven’t kept up with how much PT T.Harris had with Ga Tech this year.)

If Dabo wanted to fix these problems he could. I think he gets paid roughly 11.5 million per year. I think anyone could live comfortably in Clemson for a half million per year -- even with a huge house.
That leaves a lot of dollars for taxes and NIL. Clemson would be able to compete with most schools to pay high dollars.

Kids decommit because they see through the smoke. The only ones with a ‘personality flaw’ are the grown men crying on Tigernet because a 4-star didn’t want to spend four years under Dabo’s group therapy sessions. Y’all act like the portal ruined loyalty ,nah, it just made fake loyalty impossible. 🤷♂️

How can these guys be All In with the HC not being All In without the hiring of Top ranked coaches. As a recruit I would go to where I can be coached by some of the best coaches in the country and that's not what we have at Clemson right now...

Need immediate help, so losing HS talent doesn’t hurt as much if we can find some ballers in the portal. Still think HS recruiting should be a good percentage of overall team, but we have not been recruiting the same players as we have in the past, so maybe need to change philosophy entirely. If we can get the same size and speed to keep winning from the HS ranks, then won’t need as much portal action. It will be different every year, but if Dabo doesn’t realize this now, then there is no hope for him!

Why is anyone surprised!!! You have the Head Coach who when asked questions about the teams on-field performance struggles his response is " if they are tired of winning, I'll go coach somewhere else ". Then you have the DC pointing fingers at his players and coaches in a press conference, and finally the team is on pace to have a 500 season. What do you expect? Nothing about these actions would make a top flight recruit want to committ. Big changes need to be made from top to bottom and no one should be immune.

No one on this board has the info the coaches have, there could be many reasons for this, glad that he decided now so we have time to consider the impact and allow coaches to work it, but I would think they all knew this before…….
As said above, maybe the coaches told him to look elsewhere, etc, maybe something happened where he got way more $$ to help his family, y’all just dont have the facts, so its easy to bend them to your own narrative…
It’s like people trying to predict what Putin is going to do next, how ithe heck can you do that when you dont have the info he has…. Or how can you say what the USA should do if you dont have the intelligence they have….

HEY, HEY HEY.....cut out those comments about Coach Conn. So what the Safety play is horrible this season. So what he has been here for 9 seasons and only 1 player he's recruited at this position has been drafted. Let us not forget all the talent from Grayson high school that his hiring was supposed to provide to Clemson (still waiting for these players). So what he somehow survived being criticized for the abysmal performance of the defense last season and he was Co-DC (it was all Goodwin's fault). Conn is CDS best friend and that's that. ENOUGH SAID!!

Accept an early offer from Clemson - this offer will not be rescinded. The player has a locked in scholarship if he is injured or his stock declines. Next the player can court and accept offers & bids from all other universities. He can consider his best options over the next year, and make a decision which best meets his needs on his schedule.
Clemson keeps going down this broken path. It's good for the player but not Clemson. Rinse and repeat. When the scholarship offer is rejected, then Clemson offers a local 3-star, a friend's son, or provides another walk-on with a full scholarship.

It happens to most schools.
Perhaps the super rich schools are somewhat ‘protected’ in that they offer whopper NIL deals for pretty good HS recruits that the not-super-rich schools view as such fabulous prospects that they are willing to blow their budget by duking it out with OH State or Texas Tech.
For the super-good HS recruits, the super-rich schools offer NIL deals that are already outside of the budgets of the not-super-rich schools.
Most likely when a super-rich school suffers a decommit, it is because the super-rich school over recruited players at a given position, and tge ‘original’ super-rich school commit figured out that PT prospects were dim. Thus, his agent (or coaches) started dropping out feelers to those other schools who had lost out in the first place on said decommitted player.
The permutations are plentiful.
