Some truth to this, the college landscape has moved from culture/values to essentially approaching every recruit with “this is how much we will pay you and your family”. Should reduce all salaries by 90% and stop all stadium upgrades and spend all income on recruits. Until we are back to a national championship contender, we should continue with the pay cuts, give the money back once Clemson becomes relevant again.

Not “some” but a lot of truth .. it’s pure delusional to think we’ll get back to the top unless we change with the new era of CFB. Unless Dabo does adapt, it will be a very slow, painful reality … everyone knows the deal, we see it with our own eyes, despite the excuses and lame promises.

Yep … he did, then ..when we were winning ..now, we’re struggling to even go to a toilet bowl … and Dabo’s words are drawing laughter from coast to coast - not just from big ears. We will win one award this year - the most disappointing team in CFB.

Ouch, my eyes.
I think I have the solution for ESPN and Finebaum. They don't need to fire him. Just do us all a favor and put him and his parasail-ears on ESPN *RADIO*. This way we can all hear his constant bashing of Clemson without having to see that scowling mug of his.

Clemson and its base don’t have the resources to compete in today’s game. We have already used our mulligan too many times. We rank at the bottom of acc on alumni net worth even compared to GT

Clemson's coaches get paid very well. And the Bball program uses the portal quite a bit. So, the football program doesn't have the $$$$$$$44???????

It's crazy that Finebaum could say such trash about Dabo but not about Bobby Bowden, Joe Paterno, Steve Spurrier, Mack Brown and others coaches many more years and wine two or less national championships. These men weren't hampered by the athletes being paid to play but Dabo is. His concern deals with graduating students and winning Natty's is second. He embraces Scripture "come out from among them and be separate." He don't need to embrace the transfer portal and paying these kids especially since they're getting their schooling.

Swinney's Strategy (LOL)
3
Oct 20, 2025, 6:01 PM
|
|
"(Swinney's strategy has been) is we build from within. That's from our player personnel standpoint, and our coaches. We're talking about the players from one point, but what I hear is the coaches haven't really changed around them."
How can Clemson build from within whenever the Development Coaches have a little more than 3 months of coaching experience. Just 9 months ago, these coaches were playing in the playoff against Texas. It's stupidity at its finest and if Dabo cannot see that then maybe we need to hire someone else for the job.
It is not the coordinators at all. No, it's some position coaches and the development support staff that needs to be shown the door.

Why does anyone listen to the walking dic- with elephant ears. He talked the same crap when we won not just 1 but National Championships over the toughest SEC team (Alabama) in the Country and this guy claimed we’d get killed. He’s never ever taken one snap on the field and truly nothing but hot air and full of crap! Hey Fine aim we can’t be perfect ever year, but without question we have the very best Coach in the Nation. Go Tigers, Fight Fight Fight.

because he stole a laptop. He went to a JUCO and then his dad, a South Atlanta minister sold him to the highest bidder - Auburn - for $200K. Nothing that he says has legitimacy to me.

finebaum is spot on. Cam Newton, not so much. If portal and nil makes a team then how does Indiana, GT, Vandy and several other such programs I could mention be playing at a high level right now? FSU is the poster child of portal snatching and $ and that program is a dumpster fire. I'm just old enough to know it all comes down to coaching. And Dabo better find a staff like he had eight years ago.

Foothills… you do realize that the portal and NIL are literally the reasons why Indiana/GT/Vandy are what they are this year right?
Coaching matters… for sure… no argument…
But bro… those 3 didn’t suddenly become very good only bc of coaching… it’s bc they’ve acquired the players to allow their coaches to get them to play at that level.
They got the players from… you guessed it… a little portal… a little recruiting using NIL which has led to them getting better recruits than what they traditionally would have… and a little development.
All 3 of those schools QBs are portal guys. Fernando Mendoza at Indiana is literally getting #1 overall draft pick hype right now. Diego Pavia has turned Vandy into not just a solid team… but an actual contender. Haynes King has transformed GT with toughness and effort and has them ranked in the top 10 for the first time in like 15 years or more.
Portal/NIL are literally the reason… those 3… and let’s throw Texas Tech in there too… are real playoff contenders.
