Face covering even if you consider yourself distanced is necessary due to 1) the inability to reliably re-don the mask once you’re no longer in a distanced condition; 2) reduce mask touching; and 3) the fact that 6ft is not a magical line especially when there is shouting and people are elevated over one-another.

People cannot keep their distance from one another and, when in a conversation or queue, will naturally and unintentionally close their distance to 2ft or less. Instead of frequently doffing and donning the mask or asking people to memorize and follow a specific set of conditions and distances over which to use one, it is much simpler both from a personal and administrative perspective to just keep it on the whole time.

Oh, your high school had Covid-19 when you were there??? Wow! I had not heard about that!!

When there are droplets in the air from sneezes, coughs, etc., they don't just evaporate or drop to the ground. They can linger up to 14 mins, so all you who don't want to wear a mask, could walk behind someone sneezing or coughing who has been long gone, and still breathe in and/or be exposed.

Re: TNET: Clemson responds to feedback from first home game with new policies

Sep 29, 2020, 2:55 PM

I was at the game Saturday and I personally thought that the entire game experience was handled very well. With the exception of a very few fans without masks I had nothing to complain about. The only negative that I had was that my parking was not near the entrance I was allowed to use. But that was a minor complaint for me. It was an A+ weekend ..... except for the failure to score in thirty minutes of football against the Citadel!

I agree, gameday was great considering. This thing of tickets on a cell phone will hopefully be reconsidered sooner rather than later. If it’s later, DV will never be filled again. Notice they did not put that on the player’s parents! To heck with the donors.

All I see is an explanation and reinforcement of what was already in place (which is fine).

I think the article title was worded weird, the polices are new for this year, should have been "Clemson responds to feedback about new policies from first home game"

Nothing to do with last gamee but schedule real CFP div teams not this FCS stuff. It is ridiculous to play down to that level. It does you basically no good. As a good program in a questionable conference it makes you look weak. Seek out an opponent in your won division of football

Rivals play home and home and that is not what is needed if there are to be 7 home games. I wish we could play Georgia or Auburn every year but that would take away a home game.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This has been explained many times on this board, but people

Sep 29, 2020, 8:40 PM

do not seem to grasp it. I believe we do deviate from it in the near future when we play Georgia on a neutral field and revert to 6 home games for that season.

These games not only give our young players playing time to get better, but also provide a great paycheck (usually to an in-state school) that helps their athletic department fund yearly operations. That's why Citadel is playing four paycheck games this fall. I have no problem supporting in-state schools that way.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We have the best fans!

Sep 29, 2020, 4:25 PM

Based on what I've seen, almost all of our fans complied with the new rules--more than any other game I watched. Kudos to all! On the other end of the spectrum, when they showed the coots there were always huge groups of fans with no social distancing or masks.

I thought everything was extremely well done

Sep 29, 2020, 4:55 PM

The only thing I did not like was the piped in crowd noise. 64 people complaining about social distancing. Sounds as if some coronabros and coronahos should have stayed home in the basement and watched on TV. That way the rest of us could have enjoyed the game without having the battle the mask police.
