Totally agree. Still think Cade should have gotten a couple series in the 2nd half just to gain experience and confidence. If there's no controversy and most agree there isn't and shouldn't be at this point, then get him ready in case an injury happens. Saying, what was gained from DJ being in every 2nd half series?

I tend to agree with you. I thought DJ was solid and with the lead at the start of the 2nd half I expected to see more of Klubnik. Your comment about injury is spot on. It's a bruising game and QBs take a lot of hits. CK needs to be ready if DJ gets hurt...

I disagree with one part of the article here. True to form, DJ is taking the blame, but that Interception was actually on the WR. He pulled up on his route just a bit which caused him to short arm and tip the ball. DJ played a fantastic game imo other than one throw. It's night and day progress from last season and I hope people will actually start to see it instead of constantly bashing this kid. Also I personally think the coaches left him in the game to help give him confidence. That said, next week I really hope we can get to see Cade with the 1s, decent play calling and most important an offensive live that isn't on roller skates.

I know that is what the announcer said (receiver pulled up on route) but is that accurate based on film? I think you will find otherwise. The real question is why would that actually be the route.

Spector absolutely stopped his route to avoid a collision with the defender.

DJ threw the ball where Spector should have been.

It’s not the job of a WR to break off his route ... just to avoid collision.

It’s not the job of the QB to be a mind reader and anticipate the WRs faulty decision.

Fans keep harping on DJ for not “throwing his receivers open” ... by hesitating to throw to the spot the WR is supposed to be headed.

Spector continuing his route would probably have resulted in a pass interference call when the throw was made and contact occurred.

DJ can’t get a break from the criticism.

Good QBs don’t lead their WRs into collisions with safeties. If the Safety had been tracking the ball instead of Spector he would’ve been the one with the Int

You got yours and I got mine.

I maintain that one of our biggest problems for a while now has been receivers who don’t fight for position and don’t battle for the ball.

If you think Spector gave his best on that play then there’s no use in my arguing with you.

Wrong. DJ didn’t pick up on the Safety he was leading Spector straight into. It was a bad decision. That’s why Spector pulled up. DJ accurately took the blame for that (read the article). The announcer also pointed this out that Spector did the right thing (watch the replay).

Why would stopping your route be the right thing to do? He stopped because he shied away from the contact.

The safety was in good position, but Spector should have gone through with his route and absorbed the contact.

Probably would have gotten a pass interference call rather than an interception.

Agree with leaving him in the game to build confidence. He was on a roll so let him go with it.

Lol. We are e f f I n g toast as soon as we play an elite D. Not sure why everyone is so quick to condemn CK for the very brief appearance he made. How many times has DJ been in for a series or two and done badly?

Cade didn't play well nor was he given the opportunity to. He mostly was running for his life and his second series started somewhere around the five yard line.

We gave Cade too much credit for one series against GA Tech and too much blame for one series against Furman. Life of a QB...

#5 played well but is was against Furman. They could hardly tackle him.
Our offensive line isn't playing well. 3 sacks and not many holes for our backs. Receivers aren't creating space and several drops. All these factors are a work in progress, much like last year. I'm thankful for who we had scheduled for our first three games. Hopefully that will have us better prepared for the meat of our schedule.
Right or wrong, that's just the way I see it.
Not looking for changes in the lineup, but progress from what we have.

I agree, but it was…..

Sep 11, 2022, 10:35 AM

actuality another tough game for me to watch and don’t care to watch it again.
Our Offensive line is getting pushed around all over the field AGAIN, this time it was Furman….OMG!!!!!
How many more easy passes are our WR’s going to drop )why is EJ Willams even on the field???? He clearly doesn’t look like he wants to be out there with his less than lackluster performances thus far. My summation is if we were playing teams of any caliber we would easily be 0-2 and would have been badly man handled.
Furman gashed our Mighty defense pretty much at will….even the 1’s.
Warm-up games….thankful for them but already tired of the mediocre play calling and lack of overall performance from several faucets from this Team and Coaches. We better get it together quickly or get our ### handed to us rather handily when we start playing “real” teams….just saying.
So….that’s my “get it all out frustrated rant” for today…..feel better already…thanks T-Net!!!!!!!!???
Go Tigers!!!!?????

Georgia Tech is in the ACC nitwit.

You dipsticks are luck you’ve got a QB, after the #### refs robbed us against the #1 team yesterday, we also lost our top QB and our back up is questionable. Stop your little girl whining, it’s so coot ish and embarrassing.

I never complain about a win. I think instead of playing to the Clemson standard, we’re playing up to the competition. It’s happening to a lot of teams, just look at who lost. And there’s more parody in college football these days.

were watching the Furman game yesterday...you would swear
you had gone back in time and Tommy Bowden was the coach.

When is this madness going to end? “Confidence is growing”?? What year is he?? Furman should have been a scrimmage not a confidence builder.
Second half was embarrassing.
When is the head in the sand philosophy about this going to be over…smh.

I wonder if there is a chance we could entice Furman's O-Line to enter the transfer portal? We sure could use them!!
