I've read the Tayquon Johnson story a couple of times, and I'm impressed with the fact that every time something or someone let him down, this kid was still determined to do the right things without giving up on people and putting the right foot forward when it would have been so easy to fall through the cracks, and for him to go the wrong way doing the wrong things that big money could have been made that would have made his life much easier up until the point he was arrested and sent to prison, or killed bc he was just trying to survive in the cruel world that under privileged kids are trapped in bc other young people living in that life were having babies they had no idea how they could raise a kid bc they were kids themselves, and their kids end up raising themselves the best they can, and most of the time it through a life of crime and despair. To every one like Tayquon in his situation that struggle and found a way to make it just to the point where he is now, and he is still a kid, 20 more like him never learn what it will take for them to make it and survive past the life they feel stuck in, and they do become negative statistics, and mainly bc they never met anyone who would help them just enough by showing them that somebody really cared by taking them in before they were forced to do something that would lock all the doors of success in front of them.
Those of you that have school age kids, and when you hear them talk about kids that could make it if they had someone who cares about them, start asking questions to see if there is anything you could do to help these types of kids, and the color of their skin should never be an issue bc they are kids needing loving adults in their life for them to have a chance. Just keep in mind, those are God's children needing help, and God will reward you many times over when you reach out and help them, bc it wasn't their fault being born to people unable to love them or provide for them.
