That was a more positive spin and honestly probably accurate. Its not ALL bad. But we aren't all good. It's possible we wipe the field with the rest of,our opponents. But we aren't matching up with the elites. So Dabo needs to get us back there. Period.
Go Tigers!

Need to keep Adam Randall off the field and give the young guys some chances.
I agree, Ryan. I don’t think the sky is falling. I thought we looked better this go around than the last against UGA.
I’m curious on what you think is missing on offense?

What game did you watch? The UGA offense did what they wanted when they wanted the entire second half. Last time we lost by one score. We were fortunate we didn’t lose by 40. There are no positives for this game. We won’t win every other game on the schedule. If we can’t compete with the best, what’s the point?!

Is the sunshine you’re pumping making you blind?? Saying getting absolutely boatraced by 31 is somehow better than losing by 7 on a pick 6? There are no positives here, we have no depth and that was glaringly obvious after half. Our WR once again are nowhere to be thanks to Grish. Of course we’ll go into our weak conference slate and win most of the games and everyone will say all is well as usual before getting exposed again in the playoffs covered up with more coach speak and excuses. Dabo needs to make major changes and shouldn’t wait til the offseason to do so. His absolutely asinine stance on the portal needs to change and it needs to start with the WR position right after Grish gets shown the door. Football has changed, it isn’t going back, Dabo just needs to get off his high horse and accept it and evolve. Neff needs remind him the whole reason he has this job is because his predecessor refused to fire problem assistants and make necessary adjustment just like he is doing now

In 2021, we lost 10-3 against the best defense UGA ever put up. In 2024, we lost 34-3 against the not-so-best defense UGA ever put up.
Your math is terrible.

We didn’t fix WR. We lost Beaux and just expected better health to overcome that plus how bad they were last year. I thought they were expecting freshman to be the solve, but obviously not in game 1. To me, if you have no internal solutions for game 1 you have to use the portal.

Very Simply We Need a QB who IS Confident 1st (This Ain't Cade), Next We Have Tommy Bowden's Offense(East-West) For 3+ Seasons Now The Best QB in The Spring Game never Plays Regular Season🤔 I Promise U All....Just let Trent Pearman play Half this Week v App St and Compare to Cade🤔 There Will Be Night & Day Difference from the Other (10) Non QB Teammates🌞 Trent Can Elevate this Team Cade Cannot...And Hey this just might be The Shock Cade Needs 2 Become....

Let Trent Pearman play a half vs UGA and see how he does. App State is not UGA.

History tells us that none of these common sense changes will occur until we have 2-3 more losses and the season is effectively over.

But knowing Dabo, nothing will change. He will continue to ride the dead horse that is Cade. He will continue to play Randall/Stellato over Wesco/Moore.
He didn't get any of our playmakers out in space, either. Didn't attack the MOF. Not once.
I think it's possible we lose 3-4 games this year if we don't change our offensive scheme and personnel on offense.

The first play of the game got Mafah out in space. Cade just failed to deliver the ball to him accurately. That would have been a big play.

One of many missed opportunities that cost us the game. When I saw Cade miss that throw, I knew it was going to be along afternoon. Nice kid, but Cade just doesn't have "it".

I have no problem with Stellato playing. he has shown the fight that we look for in receivers, and even he only played 18 snaps Saturday. There were several catches he made last year where he held on to the ball after taking a huge shot, or going up and getting contested balls.
But I agree Randall needs to sit the bench for a while.

This team has to be able to have a passing attack downfield. Opposing defenses know that if they defend bubble screens against Clemson, then they have shut down the passing game. So, do whatever it takes to implement a downfield passing game.

And where is the jet sweep? I saw teams run that successfully all weekend and we used to use it a lot. Using it some would make the bubble screen more effective because the defense has to be ready for the ball to go to either side. Right now the defense can cheat to the side with multiple WRs and blow up the screen. I would think that Williams and Brown could both be effective running the jet sweep.

Same crap offense in big games the last three years. BV created a vacuum that has not been filled by bad coaching hires. Grisham- 2020 Austin-2022 (Significant improvement in first game) CJ Spiller-2021
This offense has been on average about 70th over the last several years. We were 4th when TL left. Players are changing, it’s the coaching. Thank God Goodwin was a BV byproduct.
Dabo’s stubbornness with his friends and family staff is killing the program.

Ryan, I've got to disagree with you on some points. The defense in general.
We played scared on offense and defense. We're too slow overall. Yeah, we may have confused uga in the first half by not playing press man, but you had to know Kirby would see that and adjust. Why didn't we adjust? Thought we had the doods to play press man? So why the soft zone? Were we just trying to cover the fact we're slow horizontal on defense and we don't have the depth? If so, couldn't this have been addressed thru the portal? Nah, sorry not buying it.
As for offense, we haven't been able to recruit (and develop) to the identity that brought us two nattys. We don't play fast anymore. We don't play vertical... yet we get sold all off season that yeah, we have the doods now to pull it off. And yes, not just talking about the uga game, but the past 4 years as well. If it really is cade, why didn't we bring someone in to challenge him?
I don't dare claim I could diagnose and break this down but my nephew and his former fb friends were watching the game over yesterday and they were stopping it and rewinding the tape etc and all I did was post what I heard them talking about. They've been pretty good breaking games down. But it seems legit what they're saying.
Either way, time for the bs to change. I'd love to hear the x and o guys that broke down the film and posted on tnet years past.

I don’t buy the defense got worn down. Not in the third qtr. UGA took the second half kickoff right down the field with little resistance and scored. Next drive was the same. The players had the entire halftime to rest and get ready. Wes let us down, he did not adjust to the different look UGA gave us.
The offensive line looked better overall. We clearly do not have an alpha receiver and everyone knows it. There is no concern we will stretch the field or even use the middle. I’m certainly not a DC but if I only had to defend the boundaries I think I could scheme against us. We need to use all the field on offense.
We can and I expect will have a very good year.

Even if we rattle off some wins against subpar ACC competition, it is still clear that we are no longer an elite ACC program and I would have little confidence that we can compete with the nation’s best.

Probably correct. Best case scenario is likely perfect in the ACC and maybe we can squeak it out against Miami (big maybe). That would get us a top 4 seed and another matchup like Georgia in the playoff. Then if we get blown out again you pray Dabo adjusts for 2025.

Start Wesco and Moore along with Williams. Play fast paced offense. Play press coverage with Db’s. Go vertical with offensive play calls. Bottom line, quit playing safe and don’t be afraid.

It’s actually worse than that
There is a sizable difference in talent between George and Clemson. I don’t expect Dabo to Admit that publicly, But he’s living in a fantasy world if he thinks it’s really that close.
We are shooting ourselves in the foot because we are purposely choosing not to get the top talent. You can still keep your culture and adapt. Nothing kills culture more than losing often when you shouldn’t or getting blown out when you shouldn’t.

Ryan I have to disagree with the 3 WRs that didn’t deliver. Cole Turner should not be in starting lineup. Randall is not the answer either just doesn’t attack the ball and Stellato should have been left out of your article all together (maybe you should rewatch the game). The kid was not a part of the offensive game plan to start, played about 12 snaps all game and was not targeted once. He was used as a decoy or blocker more than half the plays he was out there. Was wide open flagging Cade down and would have been off to the races that Cade just didn’t throw to him and threw an incomplete pass instead and was open again earlier in game on a deep wheel route and didn’t look for him again. Brown was another player that wasn’t used much in the game plan that should have been. Cade has not improved on his field progression’s where it’s going to limit the offense. Bottom line Dabo plays favorites with certain players at WR that shouldn’t be playing 1st team reps and it’s hurting the team. Williams, Brown, Stellato, Wesco and Moore should be in a 5 man rotation going forward. I do like most of your articles Ryan. #GOTIGERS

And I quote:
"Georgia head coach Kirby Smart was asked how the transfer portal players have impacted their roster. He explained that they took a wideout they played against that can run and we need wide-outs because we lost some guys at wide-out. We take colby who is a high quality kid. We talk with these kids and visit these kids if we going to lose kids we have got to replace them with with high quality kids that are character kids looking to have an opportunity to win a championship and are looking for somewhere to play...Otherwise you can't survive in the SEC without the depth you need so, its a forced to situation. You have to use it so we use it selectively because we actually like signing high school kids"...
