win the games that you're supposed to win. Doing that takes the decision out of the hands of the committee.
Don't allow your fate to be controlled by others. Take control of your own destiny.

Step one: Own it. “This has been a very challenging time, but again, we had chances to take care of our business and we didn’t” Step two: Don’t move on. “It is hard to justify that to your players. They don’t know all the metrics and all of those kinds of things. I don’t think it makes sense.”
“We left it up to the committee. Unfortunately, the metrics are more important than common sense or head-to-head and watching games.”
“I still, admittedly, feel like they made a mistake,”
“It is hard to listen to some of things that are said. Basically, it was all metrics. That is what it looks like. The problem with that is that there are so many metrics that they just pick and choose. I said this a month ago that they just pick and choose whatever they want. Certainly disappointed and a little bit angry with what’s taken place here with the selection committee.”
Maybe our definitions of moving on are different? We all know why we didn’t get in… our schedule was weak and we lost to SCU, Loyola Chicago, and Louisville. That’s it. Shouldn’t be too hard to explain to the team either, if they are struggling to figure it all out, as CBB eluded to.

Not winning those 4 games and looking terrible doing it is why we were left out.
Just win. Win every game you should win. Win a few you shouldn't.

The final nail was Louisville. In sports, there are some games that you simply cannot lose. CBB needs to do a deep dive to figure out what went wrong. Does he need to fire an assistant? He is going to have to figure it out.

Maybe take some of that 2 1/2 million you've been paid and use it for NIL money and get yourself some players. Oh, wait, you need it all?

Should have been a sure thing to make the big dance. Not disappointed that the Tigers did not make the tourney, disappointed that the team was a bubble team (or worse) in the first place... that, to me, is all on Brownell. Hope the hoops guys go far in the NIT and will always support them. Brownell? Not so much.

Bottom line is today's world is not what it used to be. Analytics tell football coaches to go for 2 points after a TD, golfers to go for a short par 4 green, basketball teams to shoot 3's, baseball teams to hit and not bunt and on and on. We were 5-0 against Duke, NC State and Pitt but because the narrative is all about numbers and not wins, our record was not good enough.
Tomorrow could go either way because who knows how our guys will be thinking. Are they ticked with something to prove or are they just done with this year? You never know and I just hope Hunter Tyson, PJ and the players get together and are determined to play the way they played against NC State last Thursday.

I’m generally and usually adamantly anti-BB. But listening to him, he makes a lot of sense. If you “read between the lines” of what he’s saying, there’s a lot of behind closed doors decisions that are made that hamstring certain programs before the season ever gets started. We’re probably one of those teams. Unless we change the narrative by going on a 2-3 year run of excellence and then become one of the “favored” teams, we’re going to continue to slog uphill…. Regarding metrics. Some of that is good. There is a place for those things, but head-to-head HAS TO MEAN MORE! Now, in basketball, a one game deal does not necessarily determine the better team. Logical people can debate whether we’re better than either Duke or Pitt (two teams we beat) or whether Miami or Iowa are better than us (two we lost to). Those were all one game match ups. And etc down the line with other games…. BUT- When you absolutely dismantle a team 3 times like we did against NCSt, we finish hire in the conference (ie, we played many of the same teams), and we had identical overall records, how in the world do they get in and we don’t?! “Eff” the metrics in that case! If the tournament is meant to put in the best teams, how can any logical person say NCSt is better? They can’t. We blew them away 3 times!!! Now, if the committee kept NCSt out and put, say, OKSt in instead of us, I couldn’t argue. But there’s NO WAY NCSt gets in and we don’t! Period. If so, then this tournament is a joke and probably fixed (as I alluded to at the beginning with the behind the scenes dealings….).

If Brownell Really hurts for Clemson Fans.....then No Mas...Resign!!! The real reason for the NCAA Tournament rejection is Brownell! Hey I've only been right about Brownell for the last 7 years...what's young Neff gonna do after year 14 of status quo??? Any other ACC coach this year with Clemson's Wins would be In

Better idea, Forrest, find something else to ##### about. Crybabies.
23 wins was enough to get in and that wasn't Brownells fault, dope.

Losing to terrible SC and Louisville didn't make any sense either, so the committee thought they would keep the trend going.

I agree with him. 23 wins is enough to always get into the NCAAs and the selection committee must read this site and realize that Forrest Gump doesn't do basketball. I feel sorry for you, too.

does not deserve an NCAA bid. I have no patience for BB bellyaching. 14 years of mediocrity doesn’t position you for leniency from the committee.

This whole issue speaks more negatively about the selection committee than it does about CBB or our team. This year’s resume stands sufficient on team’s record alone. Shame on this committee that ignored the accomplishments of this team.

If you haven't listened to his interview it's worth spending the time to do so. I have not been a BB fan for a number of years, and have advocated for his being replaced. But listening to the battles that Clemson has to endure trying to schedule up and compete in the conference with the entitled blue bloods (Duke and UNC) must be frustrating. And it wouldn't be any different who the coach is - those same problems would exist. I think that the ACC needs to rethink how it supports its teams, other than the privileged two. Just my thoughts. I would welcome some comments. And if it had been up to me, I would not have elected to play in the NIT. The way I see it, unless we win it, which we won't, it's just a lose-lose for us. Another frustrating b'ball event. Raise your hands if you think the players are going to be excited and up for playing in the losers tournament. They couldn't get excited about playing UVA in the ACC tournament, so I see no hope here. None-the-less, Go Tigers.
