Get a little tired of all the propping up of the SEC as some standard bearer. Of course we could be an SEC school, or any other conference.

While I agree with you (the top of the SEC is really good, but not the whole conference), recruits see and hear from a young age that the SEC is where you go to play the "best" competition. A distinction is drawn in their mind and ESPN and others push the narrative. It's not a bad thing for a kid to say "Going to Clemson is the same as going to one of those other schools in terms of competition and status." Clemson sells itself, but these kids have grown up in an echo chamber.

They had 12 teams make a bowl game and their two division champs played in the national title.
The SEC is light years ahead of everyone else. Most nationals championships over the last 2 decades, most top 25 teams annually, most NFL draft picks annually. The SEC really is where you go to play the best competition. It’s not a conspiracy, it’s a fact.

Hate it to have to agree with you, but everything you said rings true.
That said, Clemson has shown it can compete against all SEC teams and then win our share of games.

We’ll need to lower our academic standards in order to become an SEC program…..maybe get our graduation rate down around 50 percent.
Also, we’ll need some new majors…..maybe offer a Bachelor of Science in “Breathing” or a Bachelor of Arts in “Being Awake”.

Well said, the simple fact is you have Bama, Clemson, Ohio State (and sorry of UGA)...and everyone else. They like to speak to the SEC like it's 12 Alabama's when the truth is, as a conference they really haven't been that good outside of the top few teams.
You have 3, maybe 4 elite teams/programs, and then everyone else. Simply put.

Clemson FB coaches, Clemson die hard FB fans, We actually compare the top few SEC programs as being in the TOP 5 in the country FB programs with Clemson, and that is the true narrative of college FB!!!

Thanks for coming to Clemson and considering us with the SEC teams that are recruiting you. The big thing to keep in mind is that the coaches at Clemson want to make you a well-rounded person in addition to making you a better football player. Clemson is a great place to grow into a man. Your will be supported by the student body as well-as your fellow football players. I live close to you, and I follow high school sports and I am looking forward to watching your progress next year at Grimsley.

Short term, Dabo should get a couple of offensive linemen from the portal. Maybe a linebacker as well.
The O Line is by far our biggest weakness.
Jonah Miller (former Oregon Duck) might be a good one.
Derrick Hunter (former TAMU) might be another good one.
