Tim Bourret question

Over the past few says I’ve heard writers, radio hosts and Clemson admin fawning over Tim Bourret. Saying he is the best there is. I don’t mean this question in any negative way but what does he do that makes him the best there is? I’m really just uneducated and uniformed when it comes to what a SID does.

As a sports writer who graduated from Clemson and worked with Tim when I was a student and then when I became a professional, I would say it's the complete package with Tim.
He was never confrontational even when I was a dummy as a student and didn't know what I was doing. He was always professional and helpful and did what he could do to make writers' jobs easier (that's not always the case).
He is, in short, the goods.

To me, his biggest asset was promoting the Clemson brand. Or communicating that brand. Information coordinators and getting the coaches correct info and then to the people that needed it so they could communicate and direct it to other people. That’s just my opinion.

Obviously he did so much more with broadcasting too. HTH. Sorta like he and his department are peoples first impression of Clemson... and you know what they say about first impressions.
