This what blows my mind about the playoff...

Dec 7, 2014, 11:02 AM

The purpose was to get rid of computers and decide a champ on the field. So when TCU and Baylor decide it on the field, the playoff committee ignores it and puts TCU above them. And how can ESPN argue that Ohio St may jump FSU? FSU has 3 wins against current top-25, OSU 2. FSU played 12 Power 5 teams, OSU played 10. All 3 of FSU's nonconference Power 5 opponents are going bowling. OSU's lone Power 5 nonconference foe beat them at OSU and is 6-6 right now. And btw, theyre from the conference that FSU just went through undefeated. How do these resumes compare at all?

Stop using logic, it will make more sense at that point.

Cant argue with facts. ESPN seems to be trying to sell the #### out of Ohio State right now. I think TCU should be in personally but its whatever. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

ESPN and ratings ... Ohio State is Big 10 ratings pick.

Found Finebaum live assessment last night to be illuminating. Sez he thinks Ohio St should get nod over Baylor and TCU. Then answers question by saying Baylor & TCU & Oregon only 3 teams he believes would challenge ALA.

The criteria is just really objective

-If i were to pick the best of the 3 teams according to which i think is actually the best team i would pick TCU (i really do think they are the best team out of the 3)

-If i were to place a lot of weight on H2H matchups i would eliminate TCU immediately and only debate Baylor vs Ohio State. Personally i don't, but i know lots of other people do. I just think had the game been at TCU or even on a neutral field that TCU would've won so i take a 62-59 Baylor win to be definitive proof that they are better than TCU.

-If i were to place more emphasis on recent games i would look past the VT loss a little bit and maybe put OSU in, especially after they beat Wisconsin 59-0 with their 3rd string QB.

-If i were to place a lot of weight on SoS, both conference and non-conference, i would probably lean towards TCU again.

Everybody weighs these factors differently which is why everyone has such a strong opinion on which team they feel should be in there. Hopefully the committee has enough members that these things get weighed some-what equally in the end.
