I have tickets for another event Saturday night that I agreed to go to because our game was in the afternoon. Whah,whah.. I get it..
But 2 very real scenarios for me, and I'm sure, other people.
1. I work shift work in ICU in the hospital. I frequently use vacation hours or trade shifts to be able to watch games. That was the case yesterday.
More importantly,
2. I am in CA now. I am considering flying my daughter and myself to ATL, then driving to Clemson for homecoming.. after the game, we'd have to get out and catch a flight back. Not ideal, but she's in highschool, taking AP classes etc.. if we want to catch a game, it'll look like this type of plan. Lots of money, tight on time, but giving a reasonable buffer for traffic etc.. if we had done this for Lville, I'd be screwed. I promise you, someone did make this plan, and its inconsiderate to your fanbases to bow to TV and move times that have been set for weeks.
I get severe weather happens. Airlines are letting people off the hook for flights to FL for 2 week period, but they aren't going to allow people to cancel flights because TV times changed for 2 teams that are in no way otherwise impacted by this storm.

I work shift work in the ER in the hospital. I, for one, am happy with the new time. I get off work at 1900, it takes me ~1 hour to get home and settled, and then BOOM! I get to watch my Tigers kick some Cardinal azs.

With a 3:30 game, it's possible to fly out of L'ville later that night. With this time change, it's another night in a hotel.
The only people that don't understand how this change can impact traveling fans are the ones sitting on their couch regardless.

Arbitrary changes like this benefit someone I'm sure, but it's seldom the average fan just trying to make plans.

In fairness, schedule changes do effect travel but TV has the final say. I see the point but for most going a Saturday night stay is what most would do anyway.

So will everyone else who attends. It will be inconvenient for me too, but I love my Tigers, and It will impact their schedule even more than ours. The team has to leave right after the game, so they will get back really late. Impacts coaches even more, because they have to break down film prior to Sunday mtgs. That said, I will be there with bells on yelling for my Tigers to stomp UL.
