It wasn’t just Shraeder, ABC played the two plays together while Todd and Sean complained, as did ESPN Final. They never seem to show all the holds on our DL that don’t get called. I was amazed they started throwing the flags for us, but it’s probably to cover up for a future game where they bamboozle us. Like a title game.

I finally had a chance to watch the full game last night. They could have called a late hit on us on the sideline. But absolutely missed this hold on that play.

When I watched in slo-mo, I could have swore that QB did a good job acting and falling like he was pushed. Clemson's guy had his hands on the QB, but did couldn't see that he applied force or pushed. Give the QB an Oscar.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

he probably did act but thats his job to make sure he does

Oct 25, 2022, 5:41 PM

Cade did a little extra acting on his too. I guess Cade did a better job. You just can't touch those guys when they're going out, b/c its always gonna be 50/50 that you'll get called regardless of whether you barely touch them or shoved them.

Is there an angle that shows Trotter actually push him down?

Oct 25, 2022, 3:36 PM

He had his hands on his back, but it looked like a flop to me.

Re: I watched the replay last night, and yeah, maybe

Oct 25, 2022, 4:47 PM

we should have been flagged, but at that time, The Clemson D was getting after it. I don't believe they would have scored anyway. On the penalty against syracuse, 99 cocked his forearm and gave a shot to CK as he was going out of bounds. I would have flagged him regardless, of where it happened. And this has probably been banged on a pretty good bit, but take away the turnovers, and it would never have been close. It would have been a rout. If I had watched The Tigers get outplayed that badly, sure I would have been happy for the win, but deep inside I would have thought, maybe we didn't deserve it.

But neither here, nor there, The Tigers won. So cuse fans, so called media experts, deal with it and move on.

Losers blame the refs. Syracuse had plenty of opportunities to win the game, but they didn't take care of business. That was a blatant hold on the play that made a difference in the QB even having a chance to scramble out of the pocket. They couldn't shut down our run game on a day when we were having serious trouble throwing the ball. We were quite one dimensional and their "great" defense couldn't get the job done.

Without the holding the qb never even makes it to the sideline. Just sayin

Yes, and Simpson likely delivers a huge sack.

My understanding of late hit - Contacting a runner with force AFTER they are out of bounds

Kade was fully out of bounds when the contact was initiated.

Shrader, although heading out of bounds, was still on the field when contact was initiated.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You are exactly right, Hillbilly! Cade was out of bounds &

Oct 25, 2022, 8:45 PM

had made at least three steps out of bounds before he was hit. Shrader, on the other hand, was two steps inside the sideline when he was hit. Yet, all the pundits tried to say that both plays were identical! They weren't even close to being identical!

Exactly. He was 5 yards inbounds when contact was first made. He was forced out of bounds and tripped at the sideline. Our guy had to make sure he was OB.

I mentioned in another thread that Shraders foot got tangled up with Trotters leg and that made him flip down
Check out the replay and watch their legs
