He has always used it "as needed".
Dumping the players who chose to come here to hire mercenaries is not a good thing.
He has also hired and fired coaches - as needed.
Overall his thinking made Clemson relevant when that seemed unlikely.
My memory is he was an honor student in college, so not a dummy.
People here claiming to know as to football than a guy who is already legendary have less clue than even me.

I suspect his record against the "best" SEC teams is better than most coaches, including SEC coaches.

that is a fair point, one that i have made as well, playing LSU twice, Georgia, Texas, Tennessee isnt the normal SEC schedule 3 of those 4 were SEC playoff teams last year and south carolina and LSU were fairly close. if dabo played auburn, kentucky, miss state and arkansas certainly it would balance it out.
but the other side of the coin is also true he's been bad against top teams in the SEC and ACC, something must change.

Folks that want to jump off the bandwagon is their choice. But once you do you have nothing to say about the team you are going to abandon. you are done, finished never to get back on the wagon again.
Now if you stay on the wagon you can voice your disappointment how things have turned out and have confidence things will get better with the man that is in charge that has brought so much to the Tiger Football program that has never been done.
It's always better if we all pull on the same side of the rope.

Come back on here in 6 years.
If Dabo has righted the ship for Clemson or lead another program to the top all us fans than would like to see him step down will eat all the crow.
But if Clemson is still bad or mediocre or if Dabo has failed at another institution then you can come on and eat the crow.
Im willing to bet a lot of money Dabo won’t get any team back to the top.
