Not a Dawg fan but I do pull for the Dawgs when they play gamecocks and FIorida ...

UGA was playing Texas in the Cotton Bowl. Dad, an avid beer drinker, mixed himself a rum and Coke to drink while watching the game. After awhile my dad started cheering for Georgia. I was stunned. He looked over at me and all he said was “What did I put in my glass?”
The way I was raised you never, under any circumstances, cheer for the dawgs or chickens.

If you lived in the same state or same town as the U of SC, you would NEVER pull for the costs. You cannot give their fans any hope. They get cocky and obnoxious.
