......and I am not saying that Jack has never made a bad call or has put the players in the best situations every time but at some point the players have to put it on themselves to execute and they did not. The players let 1 bad inning get in their head and they couldn't recover. What makes me upset is all the first pitch taking we do, it is every pitchers goal to lead off with a strike so they can be ahead in the count and we just watched the first pitch all night... Learning lesson: this is why you don't talk smack in the 4th inning.... lol

walking guys and being behind in the count will eventually get you. maybe early or maybe late. it just makes your demise almost inevitable

Probably the only game he has seen all season or last year for that matter. Idiot brigade, a good call. A wise man once said it is better to keep your mouth shut and appear a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

I have the same feeling about taking good pitches on the first pitch. You don't get many good ones - why waste one and get behind. Also feel our pitchers get behind too often on their first couple of pitches - don't know if they are coached to keep the ball so low or if they just couldn't get it in the zone but not only were we getting behind often we had too many passed balls/wild pitches throwing into the dirt. I'm not one to be too critical of coaches who know much more than I do but I told my wife when they loaded the bases it was time to take Gossett out - he was staying behind batters and having to serve up good pitches and they were starting to hit the ball better. That I think was Jack's mistake. But you are right - the players have to make plays.

lol if this was only a problem for this group of players and not a reoccurring theme then you would have a point. Problem is it is not. The only common denominator over the past decade is Jack.
