defense was on Dook's 2-point conversion?? I couldn't help but wonder what in the world is going on with this bunch. Lack of communication? Confusion? Nobody knows who is covering who? It looks like a mess. I see better-coached high school defenses.

Too bad we didn’t have any timeouts left.

Yeah, well, that's another issue. If Cade was better at watching the clock we wouldn't have had to burn that TO when Williams was wide open......

Regardless of who is QB at Clemson, we have squandered T/O’s ever since Dabo got the HC job.
His program has never done enough pre-planning for various situational scenarios (on 4th down and ‘not obvious’ situations) for to make a quick decision as to play call, personnel, and even whether or not to ‘go for it.’
This squandering of T/O’s is with respect to when Clemson is on offense.
We squandered a T/O in both the first half and again in 3rd Qtr. The wasted 1st half T/O had no discernible negative impact. The one in the 3rd Qtr prevented us from making a defensive adjustment late late in today’s game.

Bingo. I think that's been the real issue with this defense. No leadership.

I saw the same thing. A lot of running around, talking to each other after a play about a blown assignment, too many people on the field, etc.Not sure what was worked on during the bye week, but it has definitely confused our players! The other things that keep rearing their ugly heads is being in the wrong gaps and poor open field tackling.

There have been so many plays against our defense this year that looked SO easy.

after every play certainly is confusing for them and is a lack of continuity. I get going to nickel and dime subs, but its every dang play. How can the d get in a rhythm.

Yes, the defense is a complete dumpster fire. We had a chance to shut it down and win the game a la Notre Dame 2015 and the D looked like clowns trying to get out of one of those circus cars.
