Not really a far reaching scenario. Really only surprise would be South Carolina defeating Alabama. I think ohio state could lose to a mediocre team anyway.

year they win a conference title in eons, for their victory to mean Clemson gets into the National title game? And then what if we won? That would be THE most EPIC YEAR EVER. That would be a fairy tale ending...

They can quack about whatever they want. Only one team would be recognized as the winner of the national title, and THAT team would have beaten the SEC champ...which, I guess you could say Clemson beat the best the SEC had to offer lol.
My only suggestion, take the national title and relocate yourself...otherwise, I will have to enjoy a national title at the expense of your suffering...

OU would have to beat the Pokes this week too. They just throttled Baylor and would get the edge due to the Clemson/FSU rematch factor. The margin of our loss really kills us. If it had been a great game people would be more willing to accept a rematch. A chance yes. Extremely unlikely though. Just focus on winning this week, sit back, and enjoy watching all these teams choke hopefully!

all the SC fans would be pulling for Alabama because they hate Clemson more than they love their own team. Also, the SEC is more important to them than their own team. If they were to beat Alabama the SEC would not be represented in the national championship game. So, all the gamecock fans would be pulling for Alabama and all the Clemson fans would be pulling for SC!

after thinking about it some more, I think OK St. would also have to lose. The voters would manipulate the vote if possible because be lost so badly (at home). At this point I'd be 99.9% satisfied with 12-1.

Pollsters would reasonably put some other team into the BCSNCG, like a 1-loss Bama, MichSt, or OKst. A Clemson-FSU rematch would spark national outrage and would be unappealing to everybody in the nation-- except for some Clemson fans.
If Mich St were to lose to Minnesota and OKSt were to lose to OKLA this week, it might help. But a 1-loss Bama vs. FSU is still a far more interesting BCSNCG than an FSU-Clemson rematch. And does anybody really thing Clemson is better than Bama and more deserving of a shot at FSU?
